Character creation

I downloaded Illarion, and seeing the login screen I assumed you needed to request the account and get accepted and such before doing anything with it. So, I closed Illarion and requested my account. I've emailed the story and such, but i was just scanning some posts in the forums, and I realized that you are supposed to create a character, too.

Sooo I went back to Illarion, and found the "Create new" button. I filled out all the fields and hit "create". It stalled, so I closed it and tried again. Once again it stalled. To me, this is a bad sign.

1) Do I need to create the character immediately, or can I wait until my account is accepted?
2) Why is the "OK" field inactive?
3) When it stalls, has the information been sent, or is it stalling prior to that?

(It is written bolt and large there, "first" is written in bright yellow.)

Create your character with the Client first !

1. The above answers this.
2. Its as long disabled until you hit "Create" to submit this Character.
3. This seems to be a local problem on your PC, if I understand it right.

Ah...I didn't understand the "create with the client first" thing when i first requested the account...

Does this pose a major problem, not having created the character already?

Yes, you can't play without the character. But if you create it, by the time the application is processed your char will have already been made. Making a char takes a few minutes.

Hmm...this really worries me...it would appear that its impossible for me to create a character, due to this error. I just got a brand spanking new hard drive, so I don't see how my PC can be messing it up. Does Illarion have any conflicts with Windows 98?

Sorry, the database does not contain a Character with that name.
Please use the Technical Board, provide all nessesary informations, perhaps someone can help you there.
