Oops, *is Stupid*

Post by Neven »

Just a list of short questions and a problem I had.

1) Can I have an Example of the RP presented in this Game? (Such as a Copy/Paste, or blatant typed-out post)?
2) What can I expect from this game? Will I die from not eating? Would I be eaten by a large, vicious land-going animal when strolling just out of town boundaries?
3 [problem]) I made a character, then rethought it after i clicked apply... I realized, not only did I not like the character, but I also failed to notice the box, overbearingly large 'Description' box right in front of my face. Should I re-apply with the same name? Or wait it out? *is semi-impatient*

Thanks.

1. I could copy and paste something, but you wouldn't understand it and it woudl not show you a bit of rp. But I can tell you there is a lot of RP in Illarion, more then in every other game I played.

2. You can exept a lot. You will have fun and it also will be exciting. You won't get eaten by a big large animal 'cause there a until now only sheeps and pigs. But there are some monsters but just ask ingame, everyone will be pleased to help you.

3. If you just created the charakter with the client you did not apply for it, you have to do this via the form on the homepage (http://www.illarion.org/illarion/us_accountform.php)
But if you want the same name for the new character you have to write an e-mail at character_requests@illarion.org and ask if they delete it. Make sure you include the password though.
If you just wanted to create a new one because you left out the description field, don't do it, this field isn't that important.

I hope I helped you..

1)think about what the word "roleplaying" means. Then take into consideration your race, backround, height, weight, attributes, ect. Then act how your character would react to situations. Like orcs are dumb, so they get violent when insulted. They tell you to stop, you don't, they kill you, your own fault. They are just playing their role as an orc would.

2)You do not have to eat to live, but it is good roleplay too, and you must when you work. There isn't any strong monsters above ground.

3)Descriptions to my knowlage serve no purpose yet.

Thanks,
As far as roleplaying, I probably would understand ... I've been an avid Role Player in textual games (IRC, Etc.) in excess of five years. But yeah, I hope I'll see some good roleplay, unlike the mmorpgs I've been playing lately (Runescape) for example, where most of the players run around fishing for hours on end only to build the skill... and another thing which grates my nerves, but is a constant in those kinds of games, is the use of no roleplay whatsoever.. but things like 'U buy Rune BP, press 666 now!' ... stuff like that cluttering my screen.. -.-;;. *Feels as though he's getting off-topic now* So, No large carnivorous animals to eat me, unless I happen to run into a rabid pig of some sort (lame joke implied). I e-mail somebody in order to make sure the account (which I did apply for) to make sure they don't bother to register it. But, should I just make a new one and take more than 15 minutes to decide as to whether or not the character will be liked (by me)?

It's up to you if you want to play this game but if I was you I would do it :D
by saying "you woundn't understand it" I didn't mean to say you don't know what rp is I just wanted to say you wouldn't know what my character acts like and I do not have a lot of english logs that I could use to show you

Ah, a miscontrusion on my part. Different locations, different languages. Though, I never originally took insult.
I guess, because I have about 10 different characters in this IRC RPG I can most commonly be found in, I can adapt to different play styles. Like, I can go from playing some slithering, lurking snake demon to playing a happy-go-lucky Kender. Yes, I do have interest in this game, I've been looking for a good, graphical game with some actual Role-Play purpose to it. (Plus I'm Cheap :P , can't believe I -payed- for Diablo 2.)

There is some misleading information in this sentences. Therefore I would like to clarify as the above Orc is quite a stereotype one:

Orcs don't have to be dumb and they don't have to be violent when insulted even if they are dumb.

Even more, to kill someone should be the last possible solution to a "problem". There should be many steps leading to a kill. Don't skip the intermediate steps and indicate, that further misbehaviour is leading to severe punishment.

@Gro You obviously have not read the race descriptions in moon silver, so I suggest you do.

Neven, we may not have rabid pigs...But we do have fluffy.

You do seem pretty competent, your writing skills are above average and it seems to me you have a grasp of Role Play.

Your dislike of Runescape has earned you browning points with me anyway!

lol me too
i used to play runescape for the whole summer of 2002
its not bad... the people in it make it worse... they do NOT know what roleplay is... they just come at you and all they want from you is profit
no one helps noobs (so they call the newbies) save for a good price of money in cash
and what irritates me most in that game is to get better in skill ... it takes ages
i hope illarion is not the same
i used to play about 2 hours fishing and not going up a level ... not even one ... but anyway
the only game TRUE rp is found is illarion :D

I played Runescape, and it wasn't that bad. My goal was to get the most money, but thats my goal in most games, anyhow. :D
