I formally demand that the loss of skills due to death be removed IMMEDIATELY until such time that the issue of Player Killers can be dealt with. There are some of us who ACTUALLY want to build up our skills and enjoy this game. Of course if a PKer kills you, your abilities suffer dramatcally. Also, when one follows you back to the cross they kill you repeatedly, blasting you back into the stone age of newbieism. And, of course, it becomes more difficult, if not impossible, to raise skills back to their original level. I have worked too hard to loose everything and have to start over. I do not know why you can not restore the status of a player to what it was prior to an incident such as this. It also seems that no one cares about what happens to us, nor do they have any interest in deleting the offending character(s).
I honestly do not care if you consider this spamming, or if you delete me (I do have another, much better, online RPG that I would be more than willing to allocate all of my free time to in the event that you see fit to delete me and let the PKers go on their merry way).

I don't know what you are cpmplaining about!
Illarion is an Online RPG, it's about roleplaying and not about constant skill raising. Sure it's hard and frustrating when you got killed about 6 times in a short time, but when this happens, note the number of the person and the time where it happened. Write an e-mail to the gods and tell them what happened. They will maybe check the serverlogs and punish this guy.
But by the way, skills raise very easy. There is NO Skill which is raising too slow. Be happy that it is like this, in the future you won't see your skills anymore, only something like "bad, good, master" if I've read that right from a post of Bror.

Dear Peilten,
I can understand your anger about the repeated deaths you suffered from. Be aware that the developers and GMs of Illarion do not tolerate this kind of behaviour at all. As long as Bror will be informed about such happenings and gets the information he needs to react, he definitely will do so. In the future it is also planned to restrict access to the server to those who proved that they are capable to understand the minimum requirements to play a role.
On the other hand this is no place to demand anything and it is good that you have seen that by yourself. Bror has all means to react but it is his game and he chooses to let everyone play and he spends his spare time for the fun of others. By demanding something which was given freely you may help him to come to the decision that in the end it was a bad idea to develop an online RPG.
I have made the experience that with some politeness and common sense everyone gets along much better

I have reviewed my earliest post in this thread. I must say that posting in a fit of rage was not the brightest idea. So I want to scrap that post and explain, or take back, certain statements that I made.
1) Indeed the removal of the diminishment of skills should have been placed on the proposal board.
2) As an aspiring merchant, I need to have all my skills at a reasonable level to produce goods. Hence my statement about building up skills to enjoy the game. (Of course attack and magic also are diminished due to death. I'm sure that most people prefer to keep those stats up.)
3) In reference to the nobody cares statement, I've bumped into my very large share of people who are, shall we say, not interested in helping those in need of rescue. (I will note that there was one female who did help scare away my assailant.)
4) I have absolutely NO interest in being deleted, and do not wish to make Bror feel that his endeavor to create a good graphic online RPG is in vain. On the contrary, I think that this game has turned out well so far.
With that I request that from this point on, my initial post on this thread should be forgotten or looked upon as a spur-of-the-moment post.
Uh, by the way, why are parts of the walls missing in the building west (on the small map) of the library?

How do you know that no one cares to delete the rule breaking characters? I don't see a reason to post every single deleted character with reasons every day. I also don't reply to such postings with informations like "I have deleted him." This is a business between the rule breaker and the administrator. It is no business of the person telling me about it. If I hear about a rule breaking, I check it and act appropriately. I don't want to spend my time to post a list of 5 names every day.
I wonder, why you care about playing Illarion, if you have a better game, you also play. This sounds stupid to me.

Bror get's help with the IP's for bans. All comps have an IP and if bror bans a char and sees a new one made with the same IP he knows it came from the same comp.

I don't understand you.
Skills are raising that fast, that it won't matter if you lose them. I mean, you are cpmplaining about multiskilling but are sad when your skills go down. I had a Char which has lost all skills. I had an hour of work to rebuilt the all. Is that a lot? I think it isn't. It's much to less. At the moment everybody can be the master of all skills. I hope this ends when the the rpfessionsystem is out. So you specialize on carpentery or something. This makes sense to me.

i think its like this. you black smith for a long time- 3 weeks lets say
then you get killed......
lose some skill
so you gain it again by blacksmithing again.
then you get killed.
the process repeats and get very annoying. This hasnt happened to me, but this may of happened to some cause of the PKer's.
as for skill re-building, it makes since, over time naturally you cant remember or do as well what you learned in collage cause of your age or..... just you need to learn again. But i dont think everyone can stay on for an Hour and rebuild all skills lost.

To stay for hours to max your Skills is powergaming and isn`t certainly a sense of Illarion.
You also haven`t to be a Mutitalent, which wants to can everything (smithing, fishing, baking ...).
Concentrates you on 1-2 jobs then you also don`t have to take care of so many Skills.
The death just has consequences. In my opinion the loss of Skills is too weak and would have to be strengthened around a multiple.
What would be your alternative if you think the current effects of the death are too drastically?
Lennier.

i always dreamed of a rpg part of the game when after you die, you apprear in the top of a beautiful temple with water fountains and plants, and you get reserected there.
anyway, what if you died, and lost your items, perhaps the attributes you put in your character, or your money?
it wouldnt be good, skills can be recovered yes, but its not easy, but easier.
I dont have 1-2 proffecions, i just do the skills that i need.
Carpentry
Blacksmithing
Lumbering
Mining.
i dont fish, or anytothers, i have tailoring, but that was just so i can make the bag, boots, and glove.

I think people would be extremely upset if they lost all hteir items when they died. I think that's way to much of a penalty, especially when almost all deaths nowadays are by PKer's
