Brand new.

Post by The_Protector »

Hello, I am a brand new player, I haven't played Illarion before.
But I would like to ask some questions...
First of, I understand this is a TRUE roleplaying game, and that you value RP a lot, so this I wonder, is everybody here RP:ers?
Also, I wanna ask, what do you do? Or more precise, What CAN you do in Illarion, except the usual, sit in Tavern and get drunk and tell old stories of how you slayed that mean ol' giant...?

Last but not least: Illarion is totally free, if I understood it correctly?

Thank you for your time.

yup illarion is free, but unfortunately not many people do sit at tavern and get drunk... only at party... or about once a month... and if they do... why dont you do it while im bartending!? im getting tired of sending kincent out to yell all around town that the tavern is open....

and its not mandatory, but its best if your forum name is characters name so you wont have to sign each of your ingame posts with your name at the bottom

but anyway be a lizard

To your first question most if not all of the people of Illarion are Rpers

To your second question you can do nearly everything you want in Illarion

And yes Illarion is free ((THanks Makers of Illarion))

First question: Everyone is a great Rp'er in Illarion, but sadly some get bored and care no longer about Rp, or the new players do not totally grasp the concept yet.
Second question: You can do anything you wish...in your mind and in words. Actually action on the screen no. If you wish to sit in a chair you must type it and think it, but your character on screen wont really sit. That shouldnt be a problem if you are a good Rper
Third question: Free Free Free Free Free!!!! :D

Try about 100 times.

It seems like I get to the point that I can kill zombies with practically one blow but the first time I try to take on a skeleton I get killed in just one or two hits. And I have been playing since January. #35*** and I hear about all these newbies killing demons and such and their number is 48***. Jeese.

Their numbers aren't 48***, more like 43***. If you want to learn how to get strong fast ask one of them, they will happily teach you.

Oh, I know how they do it. They have no life outside of the internet. They spend several hours a day powergaming.

Fortunately, I have a life. I only have about 1 hour or less a day to spend playing games on the internet.

I've already been killed numerous times, before I got the hang of it, then it became a few times. Lucky zombies.

Skeletons, I soloed one before I logged with decent equipment I smithed and tailored and I could have easily been taken down half total HP if they get that odd lucky hit. Fortunately, that happen only once so far, and I just survived it to run away.

Those no-lifers will age their characters to death much more quickly than you will, at least that's what I think the aim of the aging system is, I could be wrong-.^

(If online-time=age, then someone who's online 3 hours at a time as opposed to one hour at a time, will grow in strenth three times faster at least, but will age three times faster as well-.^)

I didn't mess any of that up, right?

Age doesn't affect anything yet.

Well, once age is implemented, people won't be able to complain about someone not having a life and being online all the time, and we won't have to hear it as much like this. True?

I could never understand how those powergamers could stay at their computers and poush their char's abilitites... I would get sick of that after 5 or 10 minutes! That is the reason why I chose to play Illarion instead of these other "MMORPG's" which I do not recommand to call them "RPG" because they are just crap, killing monsters all the time.
Well, in Illarion dying is not really what people most do. But sometimes they do not care about themselves so they go to ogres as n00bs and die soon... of course that's not the idead of a game, to be the master at first!
Why not try to bake some apple cake before fighting? They are tastier than monster blood and it's a lot more fun! :)

So there is more to enjoy than fighting in Illarion!

heh, kincent youve died that many times because you always go with me to drahkens castle and then you die in one hit =D. And they should have an a aging system, ever, then the game will be full of people that dont play too much, since the people that do play a fair amount of illarion will lose their character, then make a new one and they work so hard to make that character good, then BAM! hes dead, and so on.

not quite. The aging system has a loophole in it, remember? there's supposed to be a spell or something that makes you younger again. Either that or after your character dies of old age, they can find a cleric to bring them back to life, but since they were so old, they bring them back as a youth (very, young) and then they have a second life. They're already fairly strong, and in this new lifetime they can get even stronger than they were in the one before (just a suggestion).
