Arrrrgh!
Why must there always be one fool, who thinks he could rule all others?
We mustn't be that mad and build the castle for this "self-made ruler", Darlok!
He's only good in saying big words, but there's nothing behind these words...
If we would really be that mad, to help build his stupid castle, we would help him to have even more "power"!
And he will probably don't let us be free when his castle stands... He will enslave us all, cause then it is much harder do something against him!
Even if my words now mean my death, its better than live in slavery!
I'm alone and not that worth, but together we can fight this horrable creature...

Perhaps, a kind of trade can be made.
Darlok holds some power, being able to summon rotworms and, at the same time, drying out the land. For doing so, he will need several things - a lot of knowledge, and most likely a kind of very rare magical focus - only if my guess is right.
Such a trade could perhaps be, that we help him in digging out the castle - and he will hand over this thing into the hands of trusted people who will try to make the damage undone, in return. Thus leaving him without the ability to continue the drought.
This way, it is nothing but a trade from both sides. An item against work.

Will you submit, or will you fight?
The ranks need filling, if needs you shall gain supplies, as vahkos rightly said, it is the mortals fight.
We can do two things, wait untill he gains utmost power, and then try to organise split defences fighting an uphill struggle, or we can band together now, all of us, as mortals that we all are, and stop the terror before it begins. I provide a means for that.
Darlok is wise, and he is powerful, do not underestimate that, if nothing is done he shall drain the land.

Well, maybe there are some knwoledge in ourself.
Where are all the wise man? Come on.
Darlok,
what do you want to do if we dont want become your slaves?
Will you kill us?
And who will build your castle? You? With a shovel and some stones?
Where is all your force?
The truth is, that you can´t control the forces in the way you wan´t, isn´t it?
Or is drying out and calling worms the only force you have?
My poor Darlok.
So much power and so useless for you.

Hmm, Sir Giandor is right, but he can force us to become his slaves.
I mean, he can summon rot worms. With an army of rot worms, he will attack the town, and kill us again and again. And when we turn into ghosts, we can´t do anything.
In this way, Darlok has lost. But we have lost too.

darlok, you can't force us to anything.
if you kill us, we are dead. and dead peoples are hard to command.
i think, all of us will be more happy to die, than to be enslaved by a maniacal control-freak.
so, build your own castle, stay there and have fun with your ogers and your dumb followers who lost their freedom already before.

No backbone? No brain? Haven't I already declared that I claim servitude to nobody? I wish to aide him, but slavery is far beyond ordinary assistance that I offer.Albernon wrote:Aye, don't waste yer words on that corpse. It has no brain or backbone and doesn't need water to work, so he is perfect to be Darlok's pet slave.
Encounter me Albernon, and you'll see what a corpse can really do.

Most of you talk a good fight. How do your swords fare against sand? How many potions can you make with no herbs? How many arrows with no trees? Some of you have young, will you stand to hear them scream for food and water? Fight Darlok? You cannot even find him. So quick you were to bow to Lyrenzia, but when an honest demand is put before you you are suddenly too honourable to hear. Build the castle and have done. If then he turns against you at least you will know where he is. Do not build the castle and die. The choice is not hard to see.

We dont have to find him.
He wants to find us, you should know.
But I´m interessting in how many of you will become his slave in the name of freedom.
And no Herbs?
Mh... maybe.
But what about the things we got before.
I´m shure everyone has more he will need.
And perhaps he is one man... thing... whatever.
And he has to fight a long war when he wants to kill us all.
Some are week but some are not.
And some are tough enough to stand against his rule.
His rule? He is no more but a terrorist. A murder. A fool.
Let him build the castle with his worms out of sand when nothing will exist out of sand.

Giandor, it's already been explained that rotworms simply can't do the labor...they can't differ between rocks and wall, they have no sense of architecture. They are only efficient in destruction.
Anyway, he was victorious, unsurprisingly. The only thing you people can do is work for now, and perhaps you'll be spared. After all, there's no logic in killing any of you afterwards; he wants a castle, not a moat of blood.

At least those of us who chose, CHOSE. You others sit and talk and talk and talk. By the time you have decided, the castle will have stood a thousand years. Sit and wait for the sand to cover your idle bones or for others to save you, but do it quietly. Mice do not roar, scurry and hide little mouse lest the cat notice you.

I say the whole town should ban together and find this Darlok and kill him once and for all. Will you be free or be slaves.
Sure, if you fight, you may die. But you will die FREE. I for one will not be a slave, sand or no sand. I'd rather be a free man in a desert than live as a slave in paradise.
Yes, if you give in and be this madman's slave you will live.....for awhile. But lying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the time from this day to that to have just one chance to tell this madman.....he can take our lives, but he will never take our FREEDOM!

To Darlok,
You had better watch your back because I'll be looking for you. Yes, I know you will probably kill me, but I will die a free man.

Saurin, who is trapped behind the Tavern till now, has heard that some people already working for Darlok. He takes out a piece of paper, puts his talon into some colour, which he made out of the leafes laying around him and begins to write a small message:
I'm realy sad, that there are already some people, who became weak, and now are helping Darlok to build the castle, I had hoped nobody would ever do anything for this self-made ruler! But, I can understand that they got frightened...
I'm trapped and can't do anything, not something against Darlok and nothing to help the people who are frightened...
This situation really causes pain in my mind, which is already stronger than the physical pain I have, caused by the hunger and thirst...
gez. Saurin Ta...
A tear rolls down Saurin's face and drops onto his signature, so that it can't be read anymore, he puts the paper into one of the empty beer bottles, which are laying behind the tavern, and throws the bottle into the river, hoping that somebody finds it and perhaps sends an answer...

What assumptions about the future? I say victory, because construction has already begun, and nobody could fend us off when they attempted it. I am nobodys pet, or servant. Can't you idiots tell the difference between aiding somebody and serving them? I am not being forced to work on the castle, I don't even have to be involved if I want to. But I am involved, simply because I get enjoyment in the suffering of the...less enlightened, populace.Tamurom wrote:A few rocks and pebbles have been moved and you call that victory? What happened to not making assumptions about the future?
Go home to your master's castle and lick his boots, little pet!
Tamurom
Let us hope we cross paths one day Tamurom, I look forward to setting your body aflame.
Also Deats, do you really think it's possible to feed an entire population with runes? Don't be naive, there are simply too many people.
But go ahead, I'm no longer swaying anybody to my opinion. Die for your empty concept of "freedom," or "pride," let the rotworms take you by their teeth and chew you like an ordinary piece of flesh. I'll be in the backround, laughing and aiming for the destruction of Trollsbane.

The hooded man in the cloak stumbles across the desert. His once black cloak is covered with sand and dust, his walking style once so straight, swift, and firm is no more. He looks weakened, his right side counting several wounds. On his waist, a military belt carries two dusty holsters with once shiny silverdaggers, a sheathed sword is on his back, covered in rotworm filth and blood. The man is Konstantin. His face is covered with the shadow of his hood, keeping him from the heat, but his bleeding mouth is still facing the sun. The expression of his lips shows a person who went through pain, lost most of his friends, saw more deaths during the last hours then during the last six months. He enters the town, spitting blood on the sand.
In about half an hour, in a little better shape, he approaches the town wall to read the news. He thinks:
"Today was yet another time when I had to lose those who were good to me. I lost my friends. I saw them die. To stay loyal to dear friends and yet to keep neutrality is a hard task, which, unfortunately is a key to my survival. Damn worms. Attack me all they want, but one thing I have decided. I will not go against Darlok, since there is not much I can do, but yet, I will not help him put a single brick into his castle. Let us see where this goes."
He decides to write a note, more with a reason to finally express himself, rather then saying something useful.
Anarchy - is a frightening type of freedom. Anarchy is the first step into Chaos. Chaos has no face, and therefore - no time. Chaos is not freedom, since there is no concept of free will in Chaos. Anarchy is a complete freedom, since it doesn't guarantee anything. But this is the type of true freedom nobody wants. The freedom people want and talk about and fight for - is simply...safety. Security. Absence of pain. Real Freedom is Anarchy, since it also gives Freedom to evil things. People want to be safe and to feel safety so much, that they agree to turn away from real definitions. People agree to turn down the Freedom, which is frightening, to close their eyes on what they want, since what they really want is simply Law.
Law guarantees safety and only gives Freedom to good and just things.
Freedom is not a type of political order. It is just merely a tool, an item, a type of control. Chaos gives Freedom to nothing, Anarchy gives Freedom to both good and bad, Law limits Freedom for good only.
Thus, there is no such a thing as real Freedom, which everyone believes to be unique and different for themselves. Freedom to live, freedom to kill, freedom to survive, freedom to command. There is no Freedom, since Freedom changes for different people. We' re not here because we're free. We're here because we are not free. And without Freedom - there is no point to existance. So everyone must come up with Freedom to give their lives .... a meaning.
For me... I don't believe in Freedom. I wasn't made for it. So, I'll seek justice for myself. I'll choose the truth I like. My Freedom is simply... how good at surviving I am. This is my Freedom! - the man looks at his bloody daggers. - My blades are my Freedom for now. My eyes are my Freedom. I await Death to set me free, but I will not give up to it, I will fight for existance till my teeth are nailed to the floor. That is the only way I know how to live.
