Your Time is up

Post by Darlok »

People of this sin pool called 'Trolls Bane',

the Time i granded you to make your decision is up.
Now i want to hear to what conclusion you came.

Either you rebuild my Castle, or drown in the unstoppable masses of this sand.

Because I doubt that you will pick the route to your death, I demand that the works at the Ruins will start immediately.

Please dont waste my time with discussions about what will happen when you refuse my offer.
Dont waste my time with sensless threats towards my person and life.

You are in no position to make any demands, remember that.

With regards,
Darlok

Rion geht zum Brett und liest sich die Nachrichten durch. Als er Darloks sieht, er schrickt er kurz, sagt dann aber leise:
Die Würfel, sind gefallen.
Schnell und unbemerkt geht er weiter.

Lyrenzia,

Has the council made a decision on our fates yet? Or would you prefer the people of Trollsbane make the choice individually by the casting of votes?

Please, by the grace of the Gods, we must act quickly!

An increasingly panic-stricken Viola

I have been away on business. I have asked around but few seem to know what is being asked of us.

Are we sure Darlok is controling the sands? If he is can we fight him? If we cannot fight him what do we need to do to rebuild the castle? I would spend more time asking in town but there are few people about, and even less that know what is going on. I put myself at the towns and Lyrenzias disposal. I am no fighter but I am well versed in druid law.

Darlok,

when you have so much power to let us all die, why do you don´t have the power to build a castle?
I´m wondring. It is said that you have brake the Equilibrium of nature.
But you can´t build what mankind can do?
I´m realy wondering.
And I never heard of the fact that this was your castle. Maybe I´m wrong but maybe I´m not.
Can you prove that this was or is yours? I´ll think you dont.
But maybe I´m a fool in this fact, so please forgive.

Those, who I meet in town, refused my generous offer.

It is time to show you what happens if you dont make up your mind and start working for me.

I am awaiting your response as soon as you realize how hopeless your situation is.

Mashan crouches in the dark of the small alcove within the 'ogre cave'. He mutters several incantations, and smirks as the 'ice flames' errupt around the altar. He hurries out of the cave and makes his way back to town.

The Lyrenzia Foundation will not and can not control those who wish to sumbit to the demands of a madman.
Dig and toil for him if you fear for your lives, but you will have lost more than just your life.
In our time here together on this island, we each have something that fuels our desire to live our lives instead of being enslaved to a madman.

Today if you slave to build a castle,
Tomorrow you may slave to build a city, or give up a loved one.
Once it begins, there may be no end.
Standing in the hot desert sand may be difficult, but take one step one step into quicksand and you may never escape.

We need not choose, because we only have once choice.
It is the little parasite who must choose, whether he wants to live, or die.

Nearby, someone plays some familiar tunes on bagpipes that remind people of a story about a man named Wallace who fought for freedom in a distant land.

Me will never slave for anyone. Me will never be slave for stupid human! Me not care what you do, but me will never make stupid castle for stupid human. Even if me did, me would make it weak so it fall the day after! Stop asking us to build stupid things for you, because we wont! Me not care what others say, me wont be stepping on hot sand all day digging and building stupid human house.

Viola wrings her hands as she reads Dyluck’s message, shifting uneasily from one bare foot to the other. “We shall stand together against him then,” she sighs. “If Darlok is so keen on killing us now for defying him, surely our deaths after his castle is built will mean nothing to him. Worse yet, he would keep us alive to do his bidding. I would rather die a thousand times than to serve the tyrannical and evil beast. By serving him, we become starving husks never satisfied with what the Gods have blessed us with, just as he is now. His stench will tarnish each of us.”

The Halfling woman leaves the town board to prepare her meager healing supplies. Her stock of arrows does not seem sufficient for the coming days, but not a carpenter is to be found in town. “It is likely they are preparing as well,” she mumbles hopefully as she crosses a sandy lot near the library.

At the bridge to the tavern, she stops, lost in thought. Of course, this is not the time to spare our talents. All avenues to protect the village and the good citizens, as well as rebuking the evil must be explored. She turns on her heels and begins racing for the western woods.

Mandil says "Here Darlok, theres a castle for you hahahaha"

Vahkos posts a message in response to the current situation after he investigates the sheer beauty of the growing desert.

Very poetic Dyluck, but you offer nothing but an empty motivational speech. I'm one to admit that Trollsbane was saved many times, but as you can see, Darlok is holding the best cards at the moment. Either give in to his demands, or drown in the sand.

Don't think, citizens of Trollsbane, that blind pride and prayers to your seemingly powerless gods will aide you in any way. This is the work of mortals, therefore it's logical to conclude that mortals must try to end it, though their attempt will be futile. You all actually believe his threat...or, promise, is empty? Have you not taken a look around the land today? Blind! Many of you even claim you care nothing of the sand, that it won't harm anything. The rivers will run dry, you'll run out of food, suffer a famine and the land will be uninhabitable for centuries, or even a millenia. Luckily, I have no reason to fear the rising sands; a reanimated corpse lacks the basic needs of most creatures.

I no longer claim servitude to anybody, but I would rather assist the winner of any game (although it's difficult to shrug off the fact that he's human). As mentioned, I await his latest move. Although I can stay neutral, and watch the size of the beautiful sands expand. This failing town with its citizens so weak in the fields of leadership must come to a bitter end.

I know one thing.....The land is in trouble. And that's all that matters. I'm not sure what to do one stay with the fools and just watch as the land dies, two help bulid the castle,or three fight.I will talk with The Fire Seer's and see what they want to do...then The Clan will act

I think you totally miss the point Vahkos. Surrendering to Darlok would be summiting yourself to slavery and torture and eventually dieing anyways when you have outlived your usefulness at the end of your life of slavery.

That's a lot worse than dying in a drought.

I hardly consider that to the "the point." If there's one thing I've learned from my defeats, it's never to decide the outcome of the future, just form opinions about it. After all, Darlok wishes for a castle, how would you know if he were to slay you at the end of your labor?

Funny that you say that and yet you credit the drought to Darlok with no proof. I may as well say that I am the cause of it. The things you say are only opinions as much as mine, so if you were to discredit mine, you may as well throw out your own.

Who said he has to slay you? You will die when you are old after you finish a life of slavery. I might as well die fighting for my freedom today then, instead of dieing after a life of slavery.

By the way, have you even heard about the working conditions?

i just want to say, what must be said:
darlok, you are mad. you better should wish an insane-house for yourselve than a castle.
and this to all, who want to build the castle:
what are you!? sind i live here, the people where free! and now , such a stupid rotworm-summoner wants to rule you, and you do nothing else than say: "better than die."
can't you think a bit? if the castle is built and darrlok has power, he wont need anymore some "scum" , that means he will destroy or enslave you, no matter if you helped or not. if we all stand togheter,
we can beat him.

Aye, don't waste yer words on that corpse. It has no brain or backbone and doesn't need water to work, so he is perfect to be Darlok's pet slave.

They are right!
Darlok says: "If you build my castle you are free again", but can he promise that to us? Maybe he will just go on with drying out the land and buildings things. I bet he will do this.
