New Skill?

Post by Shen »

I was wondering if there was going to be a new skill like "Endurance". So that when you chop a tree down or mine or smith, etc. So you dont get tired and hungery so fast. And the more work you do the better your skill gets.

I think Constitution is the same as endurance.
And constitution should be the determining factor in how much stamina you have.

But stamina is somthing that you can train so if anything, it should go with the skill. With a Better wood cutting skill, you can cut wood for longer because you are used to it and good at it. Where as if you were new to wood cutting, it would tire you out really fast.

I dont think it should be linked to constitution in anyway because bigger muscles get tired faster.

How do you figure that bigger muscles get tired faster?!? That makes absolutely no sense to me...please explain the reasoning behind that statement.

It is true, it is more weight to carry. What you really want are toned muscles. They aren't very big, but they are very hard and don't tire easily. It also gets rid of body fat.

I know why but i just cant explain it so that you could understand. not that your dumb, probably cos i'm bad at explaining things :?

Anyway, bigger muscles like a body builder's are designed for power and strength. They might be able to lift a lot, but only a few times. And a sprinters leg muscles. They can run 100 metres really fast, but they would have no chance of running a marathon. Big muscles are heavy and it takes a lot more energy to move them so you get tired faster than if you had small muscles.

But we are talking about constitution here not strength....strength and constitution are two different stats in illarion.

I am saying constitution should affect stamina becase constitution is defined as being your health and fitness.

I am not saying that strength should affect stamina...

I thought constitution was how much punishment your body could take and i just thought that someone with a high constitution would have big muscles to "Soften the blow"
The guide says it determins the ammount of Hp your character has.

While looking at the guide i saw this.. "Agility - decides how fast you can switch into the "running mode", you will however also exhaust yourself faster." (dont know how to quote :?)
Maybe agility should affect stamina as well?

Constitution is your general endurance. If your body has a high endurance, it can take more damage, hence more hitpoints.
Strenth is...your strength.
They are very seperate.

Also, the size of your muscles really has little to do with your endurance, sprinters are very quick, but are generally not as good long distance for the simple reason that they have not trained their bodies for long distance running, but for sprinting. The same goes with body building, and all other forms of human competition. You are good at what you train yourself to be at.

Agility has nothing to do with stamina. Agility is how fast you can move and your balance. Allthough being agile does not make you a quick runner, it would make you quick at changing directions, or dodging(or parry in the game). You could be very agile, but tire out extermely quickly. They are really two different things. (Although normally there is a correlation. A person who is agile is usually generally fit, making his stamina respectable. So to be realistic if you put stats into agility, you should also put stats into endurance/stamina. But you can make your char a super quick person who tires extremely fast if you so choose.)
