I don't see any competition in a game made by a single person who doesn't even have much experience in programming, compared to the work of a group of studied computer scientists and experienced graphics artists.
I don't want to disappoint anyone but I have my doubts that any of these little "projects" will live very long.

A nice program for making graphics is 3D-Canvas, its free software.
