Albernon, you for some random reason believe that because I am apart of a hobbit community that I owe Lyrenzia my blind alligence. And no, I don't want to improve Lyrenzia, I want it to either do what it says it was made to do and Protect us, or simply go away and leave us be. After all, who can best decide if their actually was a crime, the witnesses or the judges who read the text. And Albernon, don't dodge this question, answer it.

Why do you contradict yourself? You want Lyrenzia to better protect people.... and yet you don't want to improve Lyrenzia.......And no, I don't want to improve Lyrenzia, I want it to either do what it says it was made to do and Protect us
Hmmmm.........

I never dodge any of your questions. Most of them have already been answered by the common sense of most people. Why do kingdoms in other places have courts and judges?
Sometimes your question is senseless so I answer you back with a question or an example:
Okay, I claimed to witness Bumbol Woodstock to be a murderer
Who's going to judge if I'm lieing? Duh.... your friends will take your side and my friends will take mine. Then I will try to kill you to get justice (if there is no Lyrenzia), and then both sides break out into all out war.
Wow! Very productive!
By the way, you really showed me how effective your "justice" was when you and the hobbits got into a war with Darlok throughout the town.

WEll....heh. I dont think lyrenzia should be the judge of the punishment. I think that the victim should be able to choose what the other persons punishment shoudl be, and lyrenzia can make a certain amount of time.
For instance, instead of giving the 'crime commiter' the choice of jail or banned from town, I suggest that you make it to where the victim can choose if he wants the 'crime commiter' to be in jail or banned from town, and lyrenzia decide how much time.
Besides. Lyrenzia didnt even build the whole wall. They went to the guilds for their support! The UCA paid for a lot of the wall i believe.
And, yes. THe wall is protecting us. There are uses for the entrances. If there were a demon attack, therea re only three ways a demon can get in. This way, we can easily block them out! Besides. The wall isnt that bad anyway. You do get used to it. You dont get into arguments about...where you can cast, and where you cant, becuase you are out of town if you are outside the wall now.
((and, Bumbol and Albernon, im not taking sides....but why dont you both go to the general forum, and argue there?))

I think Faramier and a few other noble people were the only people willing to help, and as Faramier was a cloud and we were far fewer in numbers we could not do anything but sign a treaty agreeing to end the war. And do you know where the money came from to end the war? I will tell you. It came from Crosis' own pockect, and you say he is weak? His strength of character ended the war and prooved his worth as a leader. For him to make a personal sacrifice for the good of his folk was sheer greatness and proof that there is more to him than just the coins in his pocket. That is one of many reasons why he is the admired leader of the Evergreen Halflings!

It is amazing your small head can completely miss the point.
I'm sure that the endless battles against Darlok and giving in to his demands was a very good way of proving you were just and very resource friendly...I'm being sarcastic in case you couldn't tell...
I guess it was a much better solution than getting the overpowering Lyrenzia throw Darlok in jail.
And yes I know Lyrenzia wasn't functioning like that yet at the time so you didn't have that option, but the point is that it is a much better way of ending these kinds of violent battles.

Because apparently halfling reading skills need improvement.Albenron wrote:but the point is that it is a much better way of ending these kinds of violent battles.
The point of the example is how Lyrenzia could have taken care of that situation if it happened today, not how stupid it was for the halflings and Darlok to fight.
@paul laffing: I believe it was the Grey Rose who had some kind of truce with Darlok, but it wasn't that Lyrenzia refused to do anything, but that the judicial system did not exist at the time.

Dear Paul,
you are mixing some things ....
there exists a truce between Darlok and the Grey Rose due to older happenings between us. So we weren't apple to fight on the side of the halflings without breaking this truce. But there were never any payings.
And I tried to solve this war and arrange a peace agreement between both parties. Also did the Grey Rose force both parties to take their fightings outside the town for the safety of the inhabitants.
This was more than other not involved did in this war.
Greetings,
Aragon ben Galwan

Priest of Malachin
Councilor of Lyrenzia

((I just have to say this. But this whole post is terrible roleplay. I mean think about it what person in their right mind would freely admit to being a theif where others can read. Also why would a group of theives announce there prescence to the entire island. Sorry for this bit of spam but it just had to be said))
((OOC Note: Don't assume that Burgling Swiftfoot is the real name of this person. Why would a group announce their presence to the whole island? I don't feel like sending PM's to 10 people over and over. The board I created worked for awhile, but it is much easier doing it here. You will notice that I did not give a list of members that are in the group. I use this topic to announce small things. (Meetings, etc.) ))Anlan Erson wrote:((I just have to say this. Burgling, send me a dove next time.
