When I try to sign in I get these messages:
HOST NOT FOUND
HOST IP NOT FOUND
ILLARION HAS CAUSED AN ILLEGAL PAGE FAULT
Should I redownload or is there something else I should do?

Yes, try to download again - a page fault sounds strange.

I am online.
I tried downloading again. This is what I got this time:
WSAHOST_NOT_FOUND
(click ok)
can't find host IP
(click ok)
CONNECTING TO SERVER
can't connect
(click ok)
Then I get this:
ILLARION caused an invalid page fault in
module ILLARION.EXE at 0167:0040d87b.
What can I do?

I don't know about firewalls.
How can I tell if there is one?
I don't have any file sharing progams that I know of.

Windows 98SE doesnt have a standard firewall, as fas as I know.
If you are the only use on this PC and didnt install a firewall program than you dont have one activated.
I hope someone else can come up with more help for you.

Do you use a router, a proxi or do you have a home network? (have you 2 or more pc connectet together ?).
Do you work alone with the PC or does you share it with other?
If you share the pc you should ask the other.
Try to ping the server, perhaps someone how speak better english than me can tell you how, or do you speak german to?

I got something similar to the host IP not found when I had my firewall on. The firewall came with my internet virus protector, and all I had to do was enable Illarion to connect to the internet and everything was fine. Firewalls can also be purchased seperately. If you have a parent/friend/family that is good with software and computers, ask them for more help.

Do you use something like Zonealarm? Zonealarm blocks ports.
Or Norton firewall? it blocks ports.
Or an internet router?
