How do you ADD a character to your account when the username is not passing the name rules? I found an old character named Zamorak on my computer. I don't even remember where I got the name. That is when I realized it is a name from a game called RuneScape.
So...
1) How do I ADD a character to my account?
2) How do I let them know I need my name changed when I send in my character request?

But even if you got it from Runescape... whats the problem with that name? If Zamorak isn´t the well known uber hero there or elsewere, that name should be allright.
To add a character to your (already accepted?) account, write an email to accounts@illarion.org. But remember, they seem to have a break now.

I don't want to use Zamorak though. I didn't know where I got the name at first. It was then later that I realized that I got it from that damn stupid game! I don't care if I can use it. I don't want to use it. I need to know how to add this character to my account, but change his name at the same time.
A GM would really help right now. This is an old character though. It was made in Augest. It was before they even had name rules. As I said, I'm trying to ADD this to my account, but get the character's name changed at the same time. When you add a character to your account, does the subject have to be: Add Character?

Umm....actually you CAN use "real"/"well-known" fantasy names. For example you name your character "Legolas"....well then you have to Rp that character as he is in Lotr...it restricts your RP though as you can probably see. It is allowed as it does not violate any rule; it is just frowned upon.Gro'bul wrote:You can't use real names or well known names fantasy names, such as those from lotr. Easy answer : Well they don't generally change names, although they do sometimes.

I'm getting confused. I don't think the e-mails are working. If possible, could I send a PM to a GM or Shi'voc? I think it would be easier if I just PM'ed one of them and said:
I would like to change my username to xxxxx
Then they could PM me back, letting me know that it was changed. Then I can run my character through the web page thing, adding my character to my account. If you are a GM or Shi'voc or someone like that, please PM me so I can figure all this out. Thank you.

All of your account-requests are handled by humans, not by software (although I often wish it would). About half of all requests are erased soon after arrival because they do not fit to our name rules. 95 % of these belong to those of you who use names like:
- abracadabre (small leading letter instead of Abracadabre)
- Abra cadabre (small leading letter in the second name)
- AbrA CadAbra (capital letters within a name)
- ABRA CADABRA (only capital letters)
- Abra/Cadabra (for names unknown signs)
- Abracadabre The Great (titles)
and others.
If you would only succeed to avoid these, we could spend a lot of wasted time. We erase those requests without any response.
Modern and popular names:
All of these names that belong to people of "contemporary history" are not allowed. Of course, we are individuals and though everybody has another feeling about those names.
But in those cases we discuss your names (before we erase them), what takes a long time sometimes.
If you want to call your char "Legolas" we might believe that you will try to act like "Legolas". But this isn't Middle Earth and therefore there is no place for an account on that. Call yourself "Logelan", "Leolas", "Duplosan" or "Larelun" and you will see what happens. Maybe your request will be handled by Keikan and pass - or it will be handled by me and erased, because I remember my childhood days when a I used to watch a soap on tv with a dog called "Larelun".
Call your char "Martin" and I will erase him soon because I hate all Martins (expecially those who work on graphics
). Keikun surely would let pass this mail, recollecting Martin was a name even used more than 2000 years ago. Martin fits we all name rules, Martin Luther King, Martin Scorcese or St.Martin do not.

Did you not read the list of email addresses? character_request@illarion.org is for password/name changes.
Glad my name isn't Martin
