Walking in desert sand

Post by Freo »

Perhaps when you walk in desert sand, you should slow down a bit. I am not sure if any of you have ever walked in sand before, but compared to walking on surfaces where the minerals are packed tightly, its not easy. It would be really easy to make I am sure, a system similar to being encumbered, also if there are ever going to hills of sand in illarion, perhaps going up the hill would result in the character slowing down conciderably, and going down the hill of sand make them faster for that amount of time. Just a thought...

i think you should be hurt slowly after a while to prevent people from gathering insane amounts of sand for glassblowing.

I don't see how you could possibly get hurt from walking through sand, and if people want to spend a long time getting sand then let them do so. picking up sand isn't a very difficult process and why just stop people from gathering lots of sand. what's to stop people from just gathering a lot of anything.

Don't see a point for the idea. (About getting hurt, the slowing down on sand seems like a simple, intelligent request.)

Incase you haven't noticed... You slow down when walking in Forest Ground, Rocky Ground and I think Sand.

well, most deserts (with the exeption of some) are usually blistering hot, and using a shovel to shovel piles apon piles of sand might get a little hot and tiring. PEOPLE, its not just SAND, its a DESERT. (if you did'nt notice)

Mathematic version for those "intellegent" people: hot desert+work=a really tired thirsty person in the middle of the desert. people cannot live without water if you didn't know.

If you'll read a certain other post, it will speak of introducing a stamina bar..Now that there isnt a bar of such, i think the health bar slowly going down is fine...But the stamina bar is better for this kind of thing
