The "True History Of Illarion" - An intersting little story.

Post by Simonic Jace »

The following is the 1st chapter of an intersting little story:The Beginnings Of  Illarion
Please post your thoughts on it.

Before the modern-day gods of Illarion were born, there were the seven. They formed their own appearances after which, each of the modern-day races are shaped.
The seven were a lonely group, they did not realise the powers which; they held as the almighty rulers of Illarion. Thirty Millennia passed before they learned.
Before this tale continues, I believe I should endeavour to tell you about the “Seven.” There was Molagh the dwarf god, he formed the mountains and mines of Illarion and there he dwelled till the “Coming.” There was Illiy the elf goddess, she formed the forests and animals and lived with them among the wild trees until the “Coming.” There was Ro’h’ nach, the lizard god who filled the oceans with clean water full of fish-life. He thrived there for the thirty Millennia before the”Coming.”
There was Hobart the halfling god, who gave birth to the crops on which the gods feasted. There was also Fehrwood the human goddess who created clothing, weaponry and fire, she perfected these things and learned to master machinery before the “Coming.” The Orc god Turgoch created the monsters, which still
dwell in Illarion. He hunted them until the “Coming.” There was Twixxy the faerie goddess, she realised the Gods needed a common place to meet and so created the town of Thror, which still stands to this day.
For Thirty Millennia the Seven peacefully co-existed in Illarion. Until the birth of the first mortal; Eliza, a lizard woman. This was what the seven came to know as:
“The Coming.”

[OOC]

I think you should do at least two things before continuing:

1. read http://www.moonsilver.de
That's the official page of the Illarion story team lead by Nanuk. Read through and you will see there are still gods. And a (partial) background story is in work. But maybe you can join them.

2. continue on the "Proposal Board"
IMHO this is a proposal and no ingame talk. So if you want your thread not deleted continue on the better fitting board.

Thanks!

Sorry but i think you misunderstood something, Tatonka. Neonfire meant that the post should be continued on the proposalboard and not in the RPG-board.

Read the background story page, there : History of the gods. This is the OFFICIAL background, and the gods you find there are the ONLY ones that will become "playable" in the game. (any other way, we would have to update the background story AND would have to make new holy symbol graphics for every "new" god )

Since my story has caused so much offence I will be stopping it after the following chapter.
If anyone likes my "alternative tale", please tell me. This tale is in no way meant to undermine the efforts of the true Illarionite bards and storytellers. Since nobody appears to like this tale I will stop all creative thinking and act like all the power insane new comers...
Your's in sincere dissappointment,
Simonic.

Illarion’s First Child

Eliza had come from nowhere as the gods could not bear young. Yet, she was the mirror image of Ro ‘h’ nach.
“Where do you come from, child?” asked Ro ‘h’nach. Being but only a few moments old she spoke in broken English:
“I … do not know.”
The seven were seated in a large stone temple, which sadly, has sunk beneath the earth today. They were seated in a large circle and Eliza sat, shivering in the centre.
You must understand that these Gods were in no way evil and showed compassion to the obviously terrified creature, by bestowing their gifts upon her. After Eliza’s coming, the Gods no longer lived in their separated Kingdoms, but congregated together in a newly conjured castle taking care of the proverbial “Newbie”
She, Eliza grew to be a gifted young creature and honed the gifts that were bestowed upon her. She was an unparalleled Smith, she could converse with both land and sea animals, she, could create crops, which made for finer feasts than Hobart’s; she crafted fine clothes and weapons and could hunt down even the most powerful of Turgoch’s monsters. She, was quite simply put, the amalgamation of all of the God’s powers and personalities.
And because of this she was more powerful than any of them could comprehend…
Three days and a thousand years passed and Eliza grew bored.((Please note that this Eliza is not in any way related to our present day Shopkeeper.)) She wanted to experience more than the rolling fields of Illarion and so rebelled. Firstly, to prevent interference by the rest of the Gods, she drugged them by growing an enchanted Firnis Blossom. This blossom caused them to sleep for seven years once it was ingested. She was sick of the monotonous gentle lapping of the waves and so created great tsunamis, which eroded much of Illarion’s lands. She then drove the animals and monsters insane and many transformed into the demonic creatures, which still dwell in Illarion’s caves. She was pleased by these occurrences and knew her new world was much more exciting. She herself grew mad with the power and changed the landscape further. She destroyed the stone castle and created giants to prowl it’s ruins, which are still there. She then destroyed the sky at laughed at the remaining animal’s worried confusion. She burned the forests and planted new, deformed trees in their steads. But her biggest sin of all, was to create others. She created hundreds of Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Humans, Orcs, Lizards and Faeries. She then imbued them with her knowledge and magic and watched them kill each other. The other gods looked on in horror as their beautiful land was further defiled.

@ Simonic: I just wanted to say, that I quite liked your story and I see no reason, why you
shouldn't go on writing. I'd like to hear more of it.

@ all the opponents: As far as I know, most of us can't really tell (in game) if this Storyis true
because we weren't there. If you consider it as a legend or a myth, it is just as
much of a possibility as the "official" one.
It's your own choive in what you, i.e. your character believes.

Greetings to all,

#me thinks of some religious wars in Europe in the dark ages.

To have different versions of myths or legends would be very realistic, if you take a look into worlds history: There was never an agreement 'bout religion...
Crusades, for example, are typical for the dark ages and if Illarion is supposed to play in a time that could be compared to the dark ages we should think of different believes in 'our' world.

Greetings
