I was thinking that some races can eat some things.......for example orcs could eat raw ham lizard could eat raw fish even though everyone eats raw fish i think only lizard can and you have to cook fish to eat it.
and with cabbage i think you should be able to eat that too.
Only some ideas about food here but they seem good.

The original idea was good, orcs eating raw meat etc, but please dont bring in things like spaghetti. I'm no expert but was spaghetti even around in the time that illarion is based upon?

Basicly we can have all Sorts of Food in Illarion, even Fruits/Meat/Meals you never heard of IRL.

But, come on, think about how original and new the idea of a greater and more differend amount of food is.

Please come up with some better Ideas.

maybe racial foods!!!! Like an orcish bread name Tar'klog, maybe it could be made with dough exept you add blood and ground bones and a special herbs that kills anything exept orcs?

I would suggest brownish-grey mushrooms, or some sort of very salty, but edible root.

how great, we can could use bullsponge mushrooms (an ingame mushroom matching your description), or toadstool, its used to make poison/beer.

I feel that the original proposal has some merit but all these different kinds of foods seem useless. The GM's have to prioritize what they work on and it seems foolish for them to spend any of the little free time they have on something like this. I don't mean to be rude but I just think their are many other things that would add more to the game then a few more items of food.

I don't like the proposal.
Why? Because I don't like technical limitations telling you that you "cannot" do something because you are not a certain race, gender...
Humans, elves and so on can eat raw meat or raw fish too, because they have a mouth and teeth, just as every other race. For certain reasons they maybe wouldn't do it, because it is poisonous for them or just because they don't like the taste. (The favourite food of some lizard is apple pie with fish pieces in it.)
But they still can eat it.

certain foods different races may be immune to though. Maybe if a dwarf ate an lizard pie they would be paralyzed for a little while.
