Rangers of Runewick

Councilor Deanna has been gracious enough to allow the revival of the Rangers of Runewick during this time of crisis - from Letma, to Mas, to Jefferson Gray, the people of Runewick deserve to feel a sense of security in their daily lives. The Rangers are a group of paid volunteers within Runewick who choose to serve the town in matters of defense. The overarching mission of the Rangers is as follows:

• Protect the Archmage and town officials;
• Keep the peace inside the walls; and
• Protect the wilderness and lanes of travel outside of town.

Valherian - Traitor to Runewick. Alias: "Minion". Large human with dark armor and sometimes a large axe or blue shield.

TRAVEL WARNING

Due to recent events, and for the safety of Runewick citizens, it is requested that citizens avoid all travel to the following location between the Hemp Necktie Inn and the Glittering Cave for all reasons outside essential business.



Additionally, while this area is of particular concern, travel to any location may come with inherent risks. The following recommendations are made generally:

• Do not travel alone. Hire an escort if necessary.
• Avoid locations with only one exit (e.g., a cave, a room with one door, a bridge).
• Wear more than simple clothes as protection, this will allow time to survive, escape, and alert others.
• Bring teleportation books for easy exit.
• Do not allow individuals to lure you to a location you were not originally intending to travel to.

All crafters should be advised that we are always interested in potential business arrangements for various necessities including weapons, armor, potions, glyphs, and food. These supplies will be crucial in the tough days to come. Please contact if interested.

Lastly, the Rangers continue and will always be looking for additional brave souls to join the ranks. Looking at the other realms, their most loyal subjects are being threatened or lay bleeding in their hospitals, and Katharina and Oxiana are still nowhere to be found. It will fall to Runewick to answer this call of history and fight back against these evil forces that stalk our forests and roads. If you feel fate calling, we will allow you to join as a probationary member and will assist in getting you ready for the coming battles. The Rangers will also plan for a scheduled session in the near future.

Warning: A human man has been seen in town recently holding a red shield and wearing red pants, he consistently has their weapon drawn and doesn't seem to abide by requests to sheathe. If anyone has problems with this individual please report.

Wanted for Questioning: An elf was seen with a bow in the market which led to an altercation where the elf was taken to the hospital. He is wanted for questioning regarding this incident. Please find the Lizard Man Fooser.

This is a reminder that, following alleged wrongdoing by a Runewick citizen in another realm, the allegation should be sent in writing to the proper individual(s). Any further attempts to enact vigilante justice will be stopped by force. This courtesy is provided to all Runewick citizens regardless of whether everyone likes them or not.

A parchment is added to the Ranger board from a halfling with some coins in his pocket. A small amount of cookie crumb has been dropped on the ground..

A witness states that there is only one fairy flying around though admits others could be frightened and in hiding. The one flying around however is severely wounded. One conclusion is someone is harming the fairies. I can't state the name of the witness but will happily sign my name.

On behalf of Runewicks

I would like to thank all rangers, named and listed here, for their proven courage and efforts to protect Runewick and its citizens. I hope that one day this effort will find even more reward and that everyone will find their rightful place in the gods' grove, when the time is right.

Now it is time to renew the rangers and bring this Runewick institution back into line with our constitution. Therefore, anyone who wants to be or remain to be a ranger should speak to the Academic Council or its members and swear an oath on Runewick at the next opportunity at the town meeting.

Rangers who are absent and cannot take advantage of the opportunity within this year 64 will not be forgotten. At any time, they also have the opportunity to speak to the Academic Council and can return to active service.

danke ich allen Rangern, die hier genannt und gelistet sind, für ihren bisher bewiesenen Mut und geleisteten Einsatz Runewick und seine Bürger zu beschützen. Ich hoffe, dass eines Tages dieser Einsatz auch noch mehr Lohn finden wird, und jeder dafür eines Tages seinen ihm zustehenden Platz im Götterhain finden wird.

Nun geht es aber an auch die Ranger zu erneuern und diese Institution wieder in Einklang mit unserer Verfassung zu bringen. Darum soll ein jeder, der Ranger sein will oder bleiben möchte, dem Akademischen Rat bzw. seinen Mitgliedern vorsprechen und zu nächster Gelegenheit zum Stadttreffen öffentlich einen Eid auf Runewick schwören.

Ranger die in Abwesenheit sind und binnen eines Jahres die Gelegenheit nicht nutzen können, werden nicht vergessen. Zu jeder Zeit sollen auch sie die Gelegenheit bekommen, dem Akademischen Rat vorzusprechen und in den aktiven Dienst zurückzukehren.
