Anyway:
The light on the tiles is not smoothed out without any drop in performance. Actually rendering of the tiles got a little faster by the change.

Speaking of performance...
Might there be a possibility to unite single scene objects or tiles, without specific use or description, to "large scaled showcase backgrounds"?
Maybe by an automated engine function...
Just a thought.

That is already done maryday. Even if the objects have special functions they are combined on the fly while their special components are not active.

I've just written some things that may be taken as harsh criticism. Here however, I'd only like to say how awesome this is. It really makes a difference when you don't see the individual tiles all the time.
