copy and paste chat

copy and paste chat this is mainly so i can attempt to communicate more naturally with the german players as i use another website to translate i just can't type that fast and would prefer to copy paste chat directly for translation,

for those who want to be able to speak to germans in their own language i use http://imtranslator.net/translation/eng ... anslation/

the thing is i found out without the accents not available that i know of on my keyboard the words have a different meaning grube (pit in english) and Grüße (greetings)

which while it would be slow still translates pretty good. thing is the log in the game has to be closed and open constantly to keep up i think it be easier if we can copy paste from the screen.

I do not consider this a priority

P.S. if people care they could translate for themselves with this method as i know it has to be a strain to translate for others constantly (and i do appreciate all that that help translate for others)

I agree. I cannot type out the old as my keyboard doesn't support the characters. Being able to copy directly from the chat window would help immeasurably and speed things up greatly. This would probably help the old speakers with translating back to new as well. To keep flipping off screen to paste into a translator is hectic enough, but to have to open the log and use that adds another level of distraction from an already difficult discussion or RP session.

Please think about bringing in this ability. Thanks!

This is not that easy.

Firstly. Pasting into the client should work. The chat has this function using ctrl+v. Or is there any problem with that function?

Secondly the copying part... that is quite difficult because the text displayed in the chat is not interactive. So it does not react on mouse clicks and things like that. This makes the chat work A LOT more easily. Changing this won't happen any time soon, because it really is a major afford.

I found a workaround that may help with this. If you go into your illarion folder under the name of your character you will find a text document that includes your entire chat history (from the very beginning). If you go to the end of that, you will find the stuff that others have said around you. You have to reopen it to update (and you might want to clear it if you have been playing too long so you won't have to scroll through 5,000 pages worth of text to find what you want), but it will give you somethnig that you can copy and paste.

Would it be possible for the client to use this part of the game to allow for easy scripting of a coppy function as well at some point?
