A minor heist

Post by Jen »

((This is a little rp insight on the break in of one of the flats in Galmair. If anyone would like to share a little insight in their characters thoughts who were affected by this, please join <3 ))

As Raven opened her eyes, the sun hadn't risen yet, though the sky was suspiouscly bright. Her heart skipped a beat and instinctively she looked for her brother, who – indeed – was asleep, leaning against the wooden log next to the fire place. For the fraction of a second she wanted to give him a little kick, but resisted the urge. He said he wanted to wake her, if he got tired, so they could take turn keeping watch... it seemed so typical for him to just fall asleep instead. Yet there was no real onset of anger. Deep down Raven knew, why he hadn't woken her. He wanted to let her to get as much sleep, as she could, and subsequently fell asleep himself. She couldn't really be angry at him for that.
Quietly grimacing she sat straight, her back hurt from the uncomfortable position she slept in and she felt in no way really rested. One would assume that she should be used to this by now... used to the constant fear of getting caught and having to move on to the next town – she had lived this all her life... yet it never really subsided. Of course there were moments of happiness, moments of triumph and good times, but the constant running away was draining.
For a few quiet moment she watched her brother sleep, before she turned to her bag, pulling out some of the bread she had stolen. The food was nice, although she had certainly wished for some coins instead. But she wouldn't complaint. She barely did. They haven't been caught yet and Raven would happily accept any blessing Ronagan had bestowed on them, even if it came in form of bread, rather than coins. Then occasionally her glance rested upon her cloak, which covered a beautifully crafted fiery Waraxe. She pondered where she would stow away the thing. She could hardly carry it around with her and she wasn't willing to sell it just yet. It looked rare at any rate and if it became known, that it was missing, she'd probably run into a lot of problems. No, time would let them forget about the incident, and then she would sell the axe eventually.

Uhuru wakes up slowly, stretching her arms up over her head and yawning loudly. She wipes the sleep from her eyes before slipping out from under the covers to stand on the cold floor in the dark. Reaching over the head of the bed, she opens the chest and pulls out a torch, lighting it quickly before rummaging around for some clothes to wear. Stopping suddenly, she scowls deeply as she notices some of her food bins have been tampered with. Upon further inspection she finds much of her steak and bread is missing. She starts looking all over to see if anything else is missing but can’t see anything that is obvious so she finishes dressing and leaves her flat in a foul mood.

Raven had scoured the area around Galmair, still too worried to actually enter the town. Experience had made her careful and she would rather not show her face in town while they might be looking for a thief and her being the only person around no one actually knew by name. Instead she kept herself busy gathering herbs around the area. The thought of leaving Galmairs vicinity and instead scouting out what opportunities Cadomyr or Runewick had to offer kept creeping up, but was quickly dismissed.
As her path carried her back towards the town gates she noticed a parchment pinned to an apple tree close to the fields. Curiously the girl stopped and approached the tree, reading the message. Looking a little surprised she took the parchment down, looking at it a moment longer, before folding it and sliding it into the pockets of her dark grey trousers. "No... that's crazy.", she mumbled to herself. She couldn't possibly try and give them back their axe and take those 5 gold coins in return, could she? That was an insane idea! They'd arrest her on the spot!

The dark haired girl turned around, walking away. Maybe if she had some sort of help. Surely that underground market might come in handy for something like this... It was a worth a thought. She should probably run this by her brother first.
