Cadomyr

Post by Mr.Oldie »

This is more of a suggestion of playing more than a feature proposal.
Seeing as how Cadomyr has been lately deserted but seems to be coming back to life a bit by bit; i would suggest that POs(Galmairian/Runewickan chars)to use their "license"(or other-faction-gathering of resources) in Cadomyr.
Like mining/smithing in runewick's case.
Tailoring/Cadlemaking in galmair' case.

Am sure this would boost the morale of Cadomyrian POs a bit to continue playing their chars there.
More interaction would definitely be good.
Also i would like similar suggestion that anyone can think of to improve Player morale there.
To be specific amnt asking for GM involvement; but rather what we as players can do to improve the situation.

PS: if this isnt the appropriate place for this thread, CMs feel free to change it to where it seems to fit :)

You have a good point :)

But I doubt buying a license would help to increase the moral of anybody since nobody who's not ingame can see the people working in Cadomyr.

But to be honest there's no better proposal from my side to improve the situation in Cadomyr.

The activity was low to begin with, but once our GMs went inactive, the activity of Cadomyr has been all downhill.

i think i should make myself clearer.

ITs not the actual "buying of license" thats the thing am suggesting.
its like if runewick chars has to mine or do smithing its better if they do that in cadomyr instead of coming to galmair. this create more oppurtunity for interactions in Cadomyr.
The same goes for Galmair with tailoring.
The thing is when people see lesser chars around a faction they tend to leave that faction or go to other faction for RP sake.
And nowadays people just go between galmair and runewick mostly.
Am trying to create more "traffic" into cadomyr so to speak.

And as Someone somewhere said (think it was jupiter) a Factions growth shouldnt be based on GMs involvement.
There are free for all Factions GMs like Skamato. the thing is they can only do random GM stuff for RP sake only chars are around that place. Amnt speaking about "quests". just any Gm involved situation; this can only take place place if chars are there..

So more chars to Cadomyr people :D GodSpeed! :D

* at the beginning there were some char. at Cadomyr - dont know wh they all become inaktive
* the town is a lttle bit out of ways - treasure hunts starts normally from Galmair / Runewick -> Hempty -> wilderness - dont know how many treasure´s are to find near Cadomyr
* with the "tunnel" to the blackhole mine it becomes easier to mine coal and silver at Galmair than Cadomyr - may be such a "tunnel" would help Cadomyr too
* most needed crafts (cooking/baking, carpentry, smithing) are not Cadomyr favorit crafts -> alchemy could be made in every town
* Cadomyr is only used to sell / buy some things (raw gems / trinket)
* it is realy difficult to find something to improve the situation at Cadomyr
* but i would try to support such actions to give Cadomyr a chance to come up again

A tunnel as a safe way to the gold mine from inside the town, merging the town with the mine rather than having the opening to it outside, was proposed once. The idea died pretty much completely with the absence of the GMs however.

* why not try to restart this tunnel projekt - my char will help to support this and can spend some materials, tools .... ( and may be a GM can later spend some time for an event )

* may be some trees around / at cadomyr can improve glass blowing there

Hopefully something and more can be done about this and other things once Skamato is fully back in nine days ^^

And we do have tree patches, just a bit further away than the coal mine, since Cadomyr is supposed to be a desert town and isn't supposed to have trees as one of their resources.

A tunnel to a gold mine that is a min' safe walk from the town is going to change nothing!,you might aswell then spoon feed the remaining few Cadomerians gold ,a medicine that will not fix the ailment . The present fate of Cadomyr is simple no GM (ie queen ) no head with out a head the body dies. The one flaw of building towns that are GM ruled.

Galmair is a blacksmith, miner, woodsmith, and mason community they have thr best mines for a reason but no town should have easy or safe way to a GOLD mine... gold is rareish and harder to get.. why? Because its freakin gold! And the cure for caddy is players not the gm... make players need to make the gm interested!

The gold mine is already safe and easy to access, it was because of the dwarf invasion of it that it was even discussed in game to make a tunnel to access it from the inside of the town and then block the other entrance. Thats why I meant it died with the absence of GMs, because the aftermath of the dwarf invasion quest was never finished. The victory feast for instance never happened either.

Glad to see people taking up my suggestion. it doesnt feel like CAdomyr is a ghost town anymore.
even if only 1 or 2 were the ones from cadomyr itself there were about 6-7 characters at the same time there today. :)
about 1/3rd of the online population :)
Thanks to all who were there. hope you will continue doing it.
