Toilets & reading material

Post by Gigasha »

I have noticed there is not a single latrine in TRolls Bane. using a bush may be fine for the guys, but where are us girls supposed to go?

ALso, I find reading the same books over and over tedious. How 'bout

"The book is old and crumbles in your fingers"

"The book is watered damaged, and illegible"

"The book has suffered burns, and can only be partially read"

"The book is in an unknown tongue"

and the books definately need to be placed next to the toilet. :D

I think they actually used chamber pots at that period in history instead of latrines. The chamber pot was kept under the bed or in a cabinet next to the bed. But that's out because we don't have beds to put them under. Heck, we don't even have a house to put the bed in.
Oh well, back to the woods.

Crocket grabs his shovel and some pages tore out of a book as he walks toward his favorite little spot in the forest.

Look, a hunger/thirst bar was considered "too realistic" ... I highly doubt "latrines" will be accepted as that is going even further into unnecessary realism.

This is an OOC board, remember please!
No need to attack player´s, if you don´t agree with the behaviour from a person, then say it in a friendly manner or explain your opinion.

However acting like you did it is here unwanted, it´s no place for your verbal war. And share OOC and IC!

just like one latrine for the guys, one for the girls. you can roleplay using the restroom easily and at no cost. i think this is definately a good idea, and i doubt it would be hard to make.

Hey, we don't want TOO much realism...

The Black Plague wiped out a healthy fraction of the population, did it not?

*Turns pale at the thought of the water from the river he has just drunk*

I dont think toilets should be put in the game. It over the top. As fun as it is, if I have to watch a little bar that tells me how close I am to pooing my pants then look for a toilet, I will get prety damn annoyed after a day of it.

I mention no names, but you just know some bastard will set fire to the toilet, JUST when your 'poo poo' bar is going into the red!!

Too much realism is unrealistic anyways.
Its just about where to draw the line, but I think that this is too realistic.

Ya, if these guys want to roleplay using the loo perhaps they should try playing the sims...

Actually I don't think they wanted a poo bar just a poo house which would be optional, either you use it or you don't. (You just walk around with smelly pants.)

Maybe have a program put in where you have accidents.
For example:
You are walking along, singing a song and watching the butterflies. Then you go round the corner of the tavern and GRRRRRRRRR you are standing toe to toe just inches away from an 8 foot tall snarling, slobbering demon. ooops. Time to go to the depot and get some more pants.
Because first you say it then you do it.

But seriously this is going overboard.
C'mon Martin do your thing.

So have it kinda like the tables and vases? Just sitting there for decoration and realistic scenary? I suppose that would be ok, but I still believe they used chamber pots in the medievel times.

Did I say anything about a "poo bar"? No. Just an outhouse, a water closet, a loo, a toilet, a bathroom, a head, a john, or, if you will, a porcelain throne.

And yes, I think there SHOULD be a bookshelf next to the toilet.

Weren't toilets in medieval times like those bench-sized blocks with holes in them?

Exactly.
Did you ever use such a toilet? I did, many times (in some areas in the mountains where there is no other possibility, such "things" still exist ;) ).

Um, well, this is a very interesting proposal indeed. Of course there is a dwarf that just uses the river. Besides the contaminated water the use of the river is very practical. It sure beats waiting in a long line to use the local toilet.
