LWJGL Display Error

Post by PurpleMonkeys »

So, I tried installing Illarion on a different computer today. I didn't have Java, so downloaded 6.. Then all went well, until halfway through the client installation I get an error message saying "The client caused a error while starting up: Failed to initialise the LWJGL display". Now every time I try to even start the download, it goes to this immediately. How do I fix this? :?
( I did try some googling of this but the only thing I found was how to fix this inside minecraft files. Didn't help much )

Try this:

http://illarion.org/community/forums/vi ... =3&t=37419

Under the header "I have an old version of the Illarion client and it won't let me download the new version!"

Well, I did all of that, and it allowed me to actually start the installation again, but halfway through, same as before, I get the error window and it closes.

Wait, Java 6? You should be using the latest Java. It's 7, no?

What's your OS? Do you have the latest graphics driver for your graphics adapter? Does the drivers and the adapter support OpenGL and Shaders?

@Flux: I forgot to mention, I updated to Java 7 after I tried 6, to no avail.

@Estralis: Windows 7 32-bit. From what I can see, yes to both those questions.

There should be a error.log file that gives more details on the error. By default its located at

Code: Select all

C:/Users/<yourname>/Illarion/usr/error.log
Send this file to nitram@illarion.org
