Pathetic Roleplaying

Post by Kringin »

Yes yesterday I was kiled because I was killed. Does that make sense to you? Maybe.. maybe not.. Let me explain to you the situation, I was kiled a long time ago by a "human" with the number 3336. Then I sought revenge and I did not even get a apology but a sword in my stomach. You call this rolepaying? More like Power abuse. This person think he is upholding the law but is he?

This is how it started:
Someone caught me Archering for revenge and i was multi Paralyed then killed. This certain person was i think with the number 40011, if i rememebr correctly. He knocked me out then, he claimed that I was still alive so he killed me again. Then when I went to get resurected I was killed again by the Human. (NOTE: the human '3336' killed me at the cross after i was paralyzed killed) For what was this ? to vent some anger ? didn't I die already? was that not enough? You had to kill me again? Oh yes just because the strongest people think that they "upholding" the law does not mean they acting rational or moraly correct, which s what a law upholder is suposed to do. In the past , if I remember the person's name correctly is "darlok", he had sworn to protect and upthe law? Oh well time has passed and screw that. I call this deliberate killing, and not roleplaying. Let this be an example, and make these things . Such events come with a heavy loss in Skill which is now completely impossible to regain. I could care less about skill, but it is just goes in front of your face like a 10 story walking fire and when you are at it for a year to get where you are at then... all is lost. Poeple who say "If all you seek is gaining skill fast then Illairon is not the Game for you." I say Shut Up and smell the reality, You may have time on your hands and gaining skill for you may be easy because you buy absurd abounts of material and work work work.. Many things I can say to you are as disperceptive as the things you can say about me.

This shows that the 10x system was a total mistake and the best solution in the past was to catch the abusers and ban them. It is an overburden, I say it now Illarion has a very dim future if it continues this way.. the rest is up to you.

And to all the "newbies" reporting people just to get where you are, is just dirt low.

Would be nice if losses were low as the gains are or else... all you will see is pathetic rolepaying, and people just walking around working..

I am not trying to get anyone banned or whatever, I want to state a point.

Take manythings into consideration.. I shall see you around... Maybe... Maybe not...

So, Kringin, you are the one who was arching Darlok and tried to run away. I was the one who killed him the first time, because darlok is my friend and was not ready I had to intervene.
So I yelled stop or something like that and attacked with my sword, Kringin ran away so I had to switch to my wand. Then I used 1 or 2 paralisis spells and a hept kel and he died.
I ran to Darlok and told him I got the archer, then Darlok told Kringin (after he was resurrected) to apologize to him. Kringin refused and told all about he was killed by Darlok a year ago and such.
Well, Darlok's character doesn't like being shot by a coward and then not getting an apology, so of course Darlok killed him.
Then me and Darlok went to the depot next to the mining field. Kringin, still a ghost followed us and begin cursing up a storm.
He must of been cursing for about 5 minutes and did a lot of out-of-charater words. And that is the truth of what happened.

stop the exaggeration... 5 minites, ya right; more like 1min and 47 seconds then i went to get resurect and then the rest happens.

About 7 paralysis and 2 hept kels. And you acted like you dont care. You should have stopped after i got knocked out but no.. you did not.

He is the one to apologize.. and you too... I need not to apologize he is the one who kiled me about 6 months ago (1 year in RP) for no reason. So get it straight.

Grant told the important, but strangly also the missing Parts of Kringrin Story.

I was standing arround, minding some other Roleplay when i finaly notice that i lost constantly Health.
Kringrin made Fun of it to shot me with some Arrows. (Absolutly Un-RP)
Grant chought him, supposly they fought with each other but i did not see it because i was elswhere.
After some Minutes Grant shouted for me, saying he got the Archer.
There is no reason to misstrust Grant ('s Player), so i went to him.
Kringin, or more the Player of him, because he started already to Mix IC and OOC to a whole new Thing, admitted that he (his Character) fired several Arrows on me.
My Character, a Person that does only do the Things that seem important to himself, wanted an Apology for this cowardly and sensless Attack.
To shorten it, Kringrin refused and provoced another Attack.

But the wortst Part are the Words that followed from the Kringrins Player.
They basecly where cussing on whole Illarion and every Player ever played on Illarion.
I could easiely paste his Words from my Logfile, but i think it is unessessary to show the Public what a unmarture Kid Kringrins Player is after all.

Nothing more to say to this Case.

The only reason I went ooc was because wel I was leaving, I stopped, and due to your actions I left was there a need ot kill me twice? was there?!! You power abuse and you know it. Just because you know or think someone was shooting at you does not mean they SHOULD die.. I could have stopped and I did but Grant chased me down and yea I accept that but due to your cover up("its a RP reason") just to kill me I hate illarion and all like you. There is a reason why we have unconcious system use it dont abuse it.

That is all, but have you read the rest or will you just go on about what happened?

Let us assume something.

Let us assume you, the player, somehow got into trouble with a local underground boss who has beaten you up.
Some time later, you finally decide to take revenge. As you know he would beat you up again you decide to hide and shoot him. However, one of his men notices you and prevents this, using his fists... Then he tells his boss what you tried and he comes up to you and beats you up again, already his gorilla had already done the same before.

Would you run to the next church and pray to God so he will delete the man for multi- beating?
Because the Char Darlok is exactly the same kind of person. You harm him, you die. This has nothing to do with pathetic roleplay, actually Darlok is one of the best, if not THE best played bad boy in Illarion. The only thing pathetic is the fact that some people don't seem to understand that Darlok has no respect for anybody but himself and will crush anybody who bothers him beneath his feet like an insect.

My take on it: You were killed twice for the same offense. That is multi killing no matter how it's rationalized.

If I were you I would take it to the Foundation.

I think there is entirely too much multikilling going on.
Even though killing is not against the rules you have to have a GOOD role playing reason to do so. Now it seems people are making up stupid excuses to kill others.

"Why did you kill me?"

"Because I don't like people with red shirts."
or
"Because you were standing in my way."
or
"Moshran told me to kill all human males if they don't worship him."

Everytime I log on I see someone fighting or I see a ghost walk past.
Now that the monsters are gone it has even gotten worse. People have no monsters to kill, so they kill each other.

(I wish whoever is responsible for the monsters being gone would hurry and do whatever it is they are going to do and bring them back. I have quit playing because of it.)

Yesterday I got in a fight with an orc because he insulted me...I died of course and left it at that.

Also a hobbit stole some crops from me and I went after him.But the thing is, there were two hobbit's there. One was innocent, and I attacked him because I mistook him for the thief.Everyone around me killed me, and I again left it at that. The hobbit ignored me, and I ignored the hobbit. When I get killed because of someone, I tend to stay away.

That should keep you occupied..

I do agree with Adano, arching someone without the other knowing that you would be attacking him (either thru discussion or by #me puts an arrow to his bow and aims) is lame anyways.
Just standing there and shooting. Lame.

@ Serp: As I understood what Darlok said didn't he know that Grant already killed him once. He only told him that he "got the attacker". Also, what I tried to say is that the character Darlok is a man who puts his own pride over everything. So some puny person resisting him by refusing to apologise for such a cowardly attack is in my eyes enough of a reason for this special char to kill someone.

This is not true, Adano.

I knew that Kringrin was killed before, in fact i saw his cloud floating to the Cross.
I meet both (Kringrin and Grant) there.
But i said, that Kringrin provoked another Attack by my Character.

Well, then my first statement is out. However, the second one still stands, and this is exactly what you just confirmed. I do not know what exactly was said during the conversation at the cross but certain attitudes, especially the childish obstinacy some people show against an obviously superiour opponent , can anger Darlok quite much, and give him a new valid reason to kill you. Every good played character has certain beliefs, and if you go against them you get into trouble with the char, just like in real life, as my a little bit stupid example with the gangster tried to explain. Darlok happens to believe in his own superiority and the power of his sword.

Well, in my point of view many people try to abuse certain OOC laws to harm more powerfull players (and I really like adano s example  )
So, Kringin tried to kill Illarion s Al Capone and got punished. Then he insulted him again and got killed twice. Where s the problem?

But I must admit that I agree with Kringin on what he said about the 10Xharder thing (hey, stop moaning  ). You die once and loose one or two weaks of hard work. This fact is also more frustrating for fighters because their profession is the most dangerous one on Illarion. They have to fight face to face to monsters and usually die quite often (well, I did  ). And please, don t tell me that "skills arent important and if you just want to improve your skills, Illarion is the wrong game for you". I just can t stand this statement! Lets take out the skills if we don t need them. Just wanted to say that everybody is glad when he/she improves his skill, and everybody has powerplayed in the past. But you shouldn t exagerate it...
(Well, now Loki will turn up and talk about his bard, who doesn t need any skills  . Okay Loki, you haven t ever powerplayed.)

I had a halfling approach me this morning, he attacked me. I backed off and said stop as it was entirely unprovoked, I hadn't seen this halfling before, he said "I hate you" so I asked "Why?" And he attacked me, so I killed him.
Can what the player did (unprovoked attack) be classed at attempted PK (and therefore against the rules?)? If I were a new player, I would have died.

I agree 100% with this statement. And I also disagree 100% with this statement.

Take out the skills. Take out the monsters. Leave a few interesting races, and what do you have? WEll...Furcadia. (i.e. Fantasy RP chatroom)

I am not saying this to spark a debate over what the differences between Furcadia and Illarion are. They are many. Please, especially developers and GMs, don't take this as a "bitch" from me, Gigasha's player. Because it is not.

If anything, remove the PK function, or return the unconscious function.
I know that I, for one, am not always interested in murdering my victims.
A well RPrd mugging is more my style. ((38xxx wakes up, a sharp pain in the back of his head. He starts to get up, when he realizes he's not wearing a thing as the mugger removed everything from him.)) Or some such scenario..

My point being....all those warriors in the game are getting itchy sword hands. They will probably be bored, and quick to strike as most of their weapons haven't tasted blood in ((Illarion time?)) months.

I know that my suggestions are far from perfect solutions. But after reading pages and pages of debate about this, ((Amazing how many RPG and Player forum posts end up discussing this in some way)), it's all I could think of.

Just wanted to say... well, I d better stop or my board account will be banned

"May god grant me the courage
To change the things I can change
To accept the things I can t change
And the wisdom to know the difference."

Seems that I m not wise at all

No, we get you instead, James

I think skills are important in the game, it would be pretty lame otherwise. I wouldnt mind people working on their skills, just not 24/7 like a powergamer or whatever.

@Gigasha, they are bringing the unconscious system back, I believe, they are just making improvements on it.

The fact was Darlok went to the cross looking for him. Darlok provoked the fight again, not Crocket.

You don't kill someone then go up to them and make them appoligize. Or have someone kill them then go to them to make them appologize. Nor know someone killed them then go to them to make them appologize.

They died, that is the punishment. RP the fact they died, don't try to come up with an excuse to multi kill them.

Partly wrong Serparum,

you assum that i (Darlok) was out to kill someone, or looking for the Attacker.
This is absolutly wrong, as i already stated, i was involved into another Roleplay at this moment.
(Also at the Moment my Charcter got attack by Arrows, without further informations)
Darlok heared a call for him, this call he followed.
He meet Grant and Kringrin, at (near) the Cross.
I saw for some Seconds that Kringrins Chararcter was a cloud, but at this moment i did not know that he died because he attacked my Character.
This was revealed durning the Questioning after i meet them.

Kringrins Char admitted, in a very insulting Way, that he tried to attack Darlok.
A cowardly Attack in the Back of my Character was for him Reason enouth to demand such a Act, like an Apology.
The way Kringrins Character reacted prokoced my Character to take further Actions.

This Topic is not longer interresting, i stated my Side, Kringrin already left after some huge OOC-Insults by him. There is no Reason to talk this to death.
