The following has been posted on all of the gates in Troll's Bane:
I, Guard Captain of Internal Security S'rrt K'shire, am looking for recruits for servicing the town Guard. Apprentices will be made into recruits after both I and Captain of Military Defence approve of accordingly.
Seek out either Captain of Internal Security S'rrt K'shire
or Captain of Military Defence Leon Demelii
to get started o the training.

I have also given my approval to the lizard Zehshirr and for his eagerness to prove himself in the Guard. He will be waiting on approval from Captain of Military Defence Leon Demelii as well.

Benjamin, do you still seek to join the Guard? If so, send me or Leon a message or find us in town.
That goes for anyone who seeks to join the Guard. It is as simple as messaging us or finding us in town. Right now the Guard, low in quantites but high in quality, seeks to recruit enough people so that it is able to maintain security.
Again, contact us if you value the town's and its people's safety. Or the coin that comes with the job.
~~ Guard Captain of Internal Security S'rrt K'shire
I am hereby requesting that the elf Valen seek me out either in person or by dove to discuss the allegations made against him by Captain S'rrt and Mister Ufedhin Copperhand. Notes for me may be left at the library in Troll's Bane if I am not readily found.
Mister Valen has blatantly ignored every attempt made to speak with him in regards to allegations made against him. As such, I fear I will have to pass judgement based solely on the statements provided to me by the accusers and the witnesses.
In the case of Mister Ufedhin Copperhand vs Mister Valen, I find Mister Valen guilty of the charge of theft. Mister Copperhand has provided a list of goods given to Mister Valen in exchange for the promise of cabbage that was never received. The total value of the food and clothing is approximately 22 silver. I hereby order Mister Valen to repay Mister Copperhand the cost of the goods. All payments are to be made either to a Town Official, or with one present so it can be assured the payment is made in full. I ask that whatever official is present record the payments and send them to me so that I may note them in my records.
In the case of defamation against Captain S'rrt, I find Mister Valen guilty and order him to one Dwarven hour in the pillory. Captain Leon and Captain S'rrt may choose a Guard to supervise the punishment and inform Mister Valen whom he should report to.
Mister Valen has one Dwarven month to present himself to the Guard and serve his time in the pillory. Any application for citizenship will be denied, and any further crimes will result in greater penalties until this time has been served and his fine of 22 silver paid in full to Mister Copperhand.
The elf known as Valen has on this day, the 1st of Chos, blatantly refused to serve his punishment as indicated by the Magistrate. While acknowledging defaming the guard captain S'rrt, he has denied owing anything to the dwarf Ufhedin Copperhand.
He ran and evaded the guard in front of five witnesses, despite the guardsmen attempting to calm him, then subdue him, in that order. It is advised and requested that any citizens or others wishing to help uphold the law and peace of our community report his location to any on duty guard or captain as soon as possible.
The elf Valen has served his time in the pillory and has paid the 22 silvers for Ufedhin Copperhand. The coins can be collected from any town official.
Verdict on Valen's medium offence Resisting Arrest is pending.
Other guards are adviced to get to know to Sean, also known as Six. Same goes for the previously recruited Ivan if he hasn't made his acquaintance with the others yet.
Thank you to the Guard for collecting Mister Valen's fine and ensuring he served his punishment. I do understand your frustration with his behavior, he was evasive with me as well while I was collecting statements for the previous case. However, Mister Valen was given one Dwarven month to complete his tasks. The fact that the Guard secured them in less than twenty four Dwarven hours is a testament to the dedication and tenacity of our Guardsmen, but Mister Valen completed his punishments within the time allotted and therefore he cannot be charged with resisting.
That being said, I am interested in Mister Zehshirr's claims that he was defaming Captain S'rrt again. Considering defamation was one of the charges for which he was being punished, I should like to know if he has failed to learn his lesson. If Captain S'rrt is interested in pursuing charges to that effect, I ask that I be sent a list of witnesses to collect statements from. And I remind Mister Valen that the alleged crime occurred before his punishment was served, meaning the offense is raised to a higher class if found guilty.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Doves will usually find me in the Troll's Bane library, if not the messages will be kept there and delivered to me upon my return.
I never paid any fine nor have I even met you before Samantha. Considering this, I don't believe your claims about Zehshirr.
You most likely just made that up.
Neither do I recognize your pretensions to authority. You clearly have many a lesson to learn yourself.
Why judge another for the dirt on his coat when you are covered in mud?
Please return the silver to whoever you took it from.
It isn't yours to keep.
P.S. Is it truly "defamation" just because someone doesn't like the sound of something?
Or is it rather when you mislead the public with half cooked pronouncements

Valen, we are done with this topic. Sky told me that since you're his apprentice, he will pay for you and I'm happy to have it that way so I don't have to deal with your payment and drag it on and on and have you eventually give yourself more trouble. You should be thankful.
This board isn't for arguing anyway. Put up your own board ((topic)) to argue on or send private messages to the Magistrate or the High Judge.
You haven't the right to that money Srrt. Being overly touchy is one thing. Appropriating something and then falsely claiming I intended to give it to you is another.
The matter between the dwarf and I is really none of your concern. Why don't you go and busy yourself with other things?

It has been brought to my attention by Captain S'rrt that I misinterpreted the note posted by Mister Zehshirr. There are no further charges pending against Mister Valen. I apologize for the error.
The guard would like to remind everyone that, with the month of Mas coming up, your normal day to day lives may be slightly shuffled, and you, the average citizen may be put in danger by the creatures which always seem to plague our beautiful island during this time.
We advise everyone to get into town.
If you are inside town
Rotworms may still burrow up into the town from bellow, rendering the locked walls useless. Though the guard can take care of them, we can not always be there due to small numbers. If this is the case, the safest place for you to be is the top floor of the library. Do not concern yourself with the gnome at the bottom floor, he has proved himself more than capable on many an occasion.
We also request that you post up the location of any dangers inside of town upon the board, so that we may deal with them more efficiently. Or, if you know of a particular guard on duty at that moment, send him or her a dove.
If you are outside town
You are in much more danger than the others. We can not stress enough that you should not go to your usual training huants, as they will likely be under siege by poltergeists and other ghastly foes.
Your best bet is to head straight to the copper mountains, into the copper mine and through the tunnel that leads into Leons Keep. He will be unlocking that passage for everyone, as well as the upper floors, just in case of danger. High ground is also something you will want in this situation, the creatures usually seem to gravitate to the lowers areas of Gobaith.
On a final note, do not be afraid to contact us if you need help! It is what we are all here for, but we can not do so if we do not know you are in danger.
Guardsman Zehshirr

(( Everyone who is freaking out over thinking S'rrt is going to make a decision on his own; caaaaalm. Dooooown. He only wants to be polite and not reject Hew outright, he wants it to go through the process. I'm adding this because apparently a number of people both IC and OOC are freaking out over this particular post. ))

Hew, you gave us a personal contract to con-*blacked out* to think about. The Guard finds that no one is willing to pay for your services but thank you again for sending the contract.
Ruben, I have received the message and will be bringing the matter into the attention of the people involved soon enough.
