Yeah, but when you live in a land that you've stolen and raped, you have to be patriotic to force yourself into beliving that you deserve it. How many native americans were killed so that hundreds of years later people like you could be sitting there in their large, suburbian homes with a huge yard?

@Drathe, If you lived on the mainland just a few miles from your house in Portsmouth, it's even worse. Portsmouth city counsil are just wasting money because they have it and therefore, must blow it all on the millenium tower only a few years late. Also STUPID stuff like making traffic congetion go up on purpose so that hopefully less people will use cars! And people wonder why the English aren't very patriotic.

hm...
what is your point senk?
name me 1 major country that doesn't have bones in its closet. Germany, killed 6 million jews. Russia killed tons of its own people. England, ruled the world tyrannically. America, killed some indians. If you compare all of them, America has the fewest bones in its closet.

Just to be fair, let's add a few million black slaves to the list of america and germany to have started 2 worldwars. But what's the point? Don't you think any of the other countrys wouldn't have been able to hold millions of slaves/kill millions of people/rule the world tyranic/ kill (possibly also millions of) indians? This is not a matter of the nationality but of humanity. Humans violate rights of other humans, which country they come from is not the question.
(Hmm...the question is: What was this topic about originally?)

Is "patriotic" synonymous to "I wear glasses which protect me to see my own countries faults"?

Urgh...

A few of you sure like to push old history into other countries faces...

But currently, America is the warmonger. Let's go after that, and keep all other countries out of it.

god cant we talk about cheese and sparerib umm, by the way, i think about probobly at least 70% of all americans have some german in their backround. yes we killed alot of indians and slaves. but i do beleive every other country on earth used slaves as well. anyway, we couldnt have taken those slaves if they were more advanced in technology, its called survival of the fitest, thats just how it works, morals or not.

So someday, when America has ruined thier economy and thier country, and Europe flourishes and grows larger (Eurasia).
You dont have anything against it, when we take the "technology underdeveloped" Americans as our Slaves?
Very fine, i will remember you of your words when you polish my Shoes.

Just to bring it into your information;
Finland has not never used slaves, whoohoo! :D
I proved you wrong!
Also I believe that Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland have never used slaves either.
its called a gallon of gasoline and a match
Hopefully the FBI/CIA/NSA/LAPD/NYPD/USAF/USNAV/Sheriff's department/army/pentagon/whatever read your post with their fancy Echelon-systems, then they'll bust you!

I think you just justified Osama Bin Laden's attack on 9.11.
The thousands killed were not strong enough to live, morals or not.
Thats how it works, right?
(Admit it or not, I don't care. Period.)

Add it to England, it was our men who got on boats, went to africa, captured natives, put them in boats many of them died in taking them to America and swapping them for tea, or tobbacco.

Mish, at least if the Arriva bus hits you, you can get on it, the one today just friggin drove off from me and this woman and we were runnin for it! Damn bus drivers!

I think Australia is cool too, as well as America. Think of the irony, Australia is the island the English sent their criminals to, and look at it now! Okay, there were also them Maori (spelling?) natives there, but I think they came from New Zealand.

I doubt any country is perfect, but we should look to the past to learn from mistakes, not to criticise the present.

I'm not a german, but there is no real "answer" to this.
I guess it's what is called a "european breakfast" (not to be confused with a british breakfast ;) ). Tea/coffee, jam, butter, cheese, sausages, bread (dark!) and rolls, maybe an egg or something.
In southern germany (bavaria, "Bayern") they often eat "Brezel" (pretzel) for breakfast.

But I don't think this is very important.

in bavaria they eat a special kind of sausage, the "weisswurscht", with sweet mustard (and brezel, how martin allready said ;-)). it is very delicious :D

Its Aboriginis (pronounced a-bore-ij-a-nees). They were the Australian natives.

About caffeine, I must assure you that I drink between 2 and 3 two liter bottles of Brisk iced tea (made in america  ) each day, and I don't plan on quitting... so thirsty... :D

Also, talking about slaves... everyone always forgets the Brazilians. They had slaves longer than America, and Britain was going to support the Confederates in the American Civil War, but didn't. Why was that... Ah yes, I remember. The CSA (confederate states of america) were going to supply england with cotton, but England had a big cotton boom that year, so they stabbed the CSA in the back and sided with the bluebellies (northerners :D ) , but never really contributed to the war.
