Step 1 - Character Creation Problem

Post by Xetharus »

Well, when trying to create a character (my first) and after clicking the link (Step 1), a new page pops up. The page that pops up looks like the source code for the XML document it's trying to pull up. Any help would be fantastic. This is the only factor that's keeping me from playing Illarion.

-Thanks.

Page creation may not work in IE 6, if that is your browser. Try the free firefox? If that doesn't help may have to wait until someone else is around to help. :)

I can't even bring up Illarion.org with Firefox.

IE was my last resort.

Unfortunately where one fails, another succeeds. D:

Thanks though.

Firefox has no trouble bringing up Illarion.. just a guess but probably one of the firefox add-ons causing a problem?

Maybe a firewall is blocking it? Anyway, hope you get it fixed and sorry can't help more right now.. may have to wait for someone more knowledgable..

Oh btw.. welcome :D

I do have a fairly large amount of addons... let me try removing a few.

EDIT:

Here's the error:

Do you have a mobile internet provider or anything like this?

This looks the "T-Online" bug to me. In Germany there is a provider who "optimizes" the homepage and places the JavaScript code inside the HTML code. And exactly this causes this trouble.
I need to know what your internet provider is, then I can look into to fix this.

Yeah, I have a mobile internet service provider.

I have Alltel Wireless (Which will be changed within two weeks or so to cable because I'm moving back to my old house), and I'm using a Huawei mobile modem.

I did not have the time yet to look into that closer. That is a rather complex topic...

If due to your provider and since changing the provider in about a week, possibly see if that helps?

Actually I'm getting cable internet tomorrow. So this issue will hopefully solve itself.
