My internet keeps having the hiccups lately.
I get disconnected just long enough for my character to freeze or cause an error and my client closes. But I can log in with my other characters mere seconds (literally) after the disconnection and everything runs smoothly. Sadly every time this happens my disconnected character is stuck for an indefinite period of time until the server logs me out. The time of which seems to vary greatly.
Is there anything i can do aside from spam an !GM or take a shotgun to my ISP? Or is the log out time from the server static?

The automatic logout time is static. The client has to send in given intervals a special command, that notifies the server the client is still around and active. Depending on how long after this command was send last time you get thrown out, the time until the server notices that the client is gone varies.
