I was thinking. How can a vendor have SO much money huh? How can ONE vendor afford tons and tons of daggers and plate mail? Well I don't think a vendor could. I was thinking. How about having the NPCs have money restocks. Like every like hour or so they get more money in to buy things. If you sell something to them then they have more money to buy things. I dunno it just sounds intresting.
I see what your saying, but theres a problem the first person will sell alll theyer stuf and the everybody else is screwed, I would like that they have a set abount of each item they will buy every hour so that people wouldn't just grow cabbage and sell it for income.
Yes but it stocks up with money every hour or something. The times could be shorter or longer. A hour is just a idea. People would still be able to sell their stuffs. That is also another idea. Have the NPC only buy a certain amount of items. I like that idea too.
there already is a detailed concept about vendors without unlimited ressources...
there should be a thread on the boards somewhere explaining details of this proposal...
the only reason it is not yet implemented is, that it requires quite a lot of changes

there will be changes to vendors...
including that vendors won't have unlimited money later... though to make those changes there have to be other changes in tbe server which will allow these changes to be made...
things just take time...
i've played games useing a limited npc money system..it causes for allot of trouble, annoyance, and quarrels. at every restock there was a huge croud at the store and people got really mad whenever one person who was high in skill sold all of his goods and got all of the npc's gold. this idea only promotes quarrels between players and greatly demotes advancement in the game(not to mention it will promote trying to cheat). one already has to spend great amounts of time to go a tiny ways in the game, unless you multiplay or get free stuff from your friends. i know it is not realistic to have npc's with unlimited funds, but it's only a game man! real life isnt fun so thats why we make them in the first place! the only thing i would want to do in game if it was so hard to advance is powergame, but right now it's a very relaxed environment because you dont have to break your back trying to get somewhere before everyone else...you can be confident that if you will have time later to advance when you want(promoting roleplaying). please, if you are going to implement this, make seller npc's more readilly available the more players join.
one problem with prices being so low is you cant make any money for mediocre items from other players. Also the price the eliza buys things for also affects the price people sell at.
True... but that has to do with the fact that everyone can readily afford the best items...
If prices ewre to be increased substantially, the other types of equipment would maybe find a use too.
Anyway why not add more shopkeepers to the game if this is going to be a problem with getting in sells? More chances of getting to sell your goods to the NPCs.
How would more buyers have more powergamers? I don't really understand that too well. And also...why can't they just make one NPC buy and sell? Or can they? hehe
More NPC means more "Player to NPC Trade", this is the totaly wrong direction of Development for this Game.
It is intended to lay the Economy in Player/Characters Hand.
So only "Player to Player Trade" will be supported.
To provide many NPC buyers, gives even worthless Items (for Players) a certain value they never had in a open Marked.
So Powergame-Smither/Carpenter have always someone to get rid of thier worthless Stuff, which no Player/Character would have ever bought.
