((Well guys, I'm a new player, and I've spent the last few hours reading up on the game rather than actually playing it. I've not even stopped foot into Noobia yet, since I first want to try my hand at setting up a RP backstory for my character, if something I say conflicts the storyline or setting of the game, please let me know!))
"Sealamin! Come into the kitchen!"
The 15 year old boy perked up, excited that his father would call him in. Normally, when his father met with his friends he would be forced to stay out of the room.
"Yes father, I'm coming!"
The kitchen was occupied by six men, including his father. They were all wearing leather lamellar cuirasses, and leather shields and short swords were scatted over the table.
"Sit down son, I believe it's time you find out what these meetings have been about. These Albarian nobles, they oppress us. They hold all the power of these lands, despite being the minority of the population. This modest village alone could house every single noble of Albaria, yet they live in grand dwellings, while us more numerous common folk are crammed into the smallest homes possible. I have longed to break free from this bondage for years now son, but I could never bring violence into a village that my little boy was to be raised in. However, you are older now, and I ask you son, will you bear arms beside your father?"
His mouth was agape in awe. Did his father really expect a small village to be able to lead a successful rebellion? It seemed impossible.
"Father...I...this is crazy."
His father let out a sigh, and nodded.
"Soldiers are coming tonight to levy us for war. They've already gone into other neighboring settlements. You may leave with them and spill the blood of people you have no quarrel with, or you can fight alongside your father for freedom and show them a war with a true cause when they arrive."
Sealamin realized why his father chose this night. It was not because his father felt he was old enough to be thrust into battle, it was because the Albarian nobility did, and if he was to die, his father would not want it to be for the cause of some selfish noble.
"I understand now father, I will fight alongside you."
The room burst into applause, and Sealamin's father smiled and nodded. He walked out of the kitchen and reemerged holding a chainmail coif and hauberk.
"I spent years making this son, I intended to wear it myself into battle. However, now that you have chosen to stand by us on the battlefield, I believe you should have it."
Sealamin's voice gave away, he just nodded gratefully and put on the armor over his ragged clothes. He grabbed a sword and shield from the kitchen table and felt invincible. Suddenly a loud knock was heard from the door.
"Wake up, wake up! We have come to draft all able men into military service! Open up, or we'll break on in!"
Sealamin's father signaled two of the men; they nodded and quietly exited the house through the back entrance. A few minutes later the door opened, the corpses of Albarian soldiers laying before it.
"There's a lot more of them out here, if we keep to the shadows we should have no tro-"
His sentence with interrupted by an arrow jutting out of his throat. He slumped onto the floor, and soldiers began charging at the house. Sealamin's father realized it was more than just a few soldiers, they had an entire platoon. He was unaware of it, but rebellion was becoming a common occurrence, and recruiters have now begun coming much more prepared.
"Son, run."
"What?"
"Run!"
Sealamin frowned, confused about why his father would tell him to run just seconds before battle when he had just convinced him to fight.
"Father, I wish to fight alongside you, I'm not going to run!"
"Son, when your mother passed, it became my responsibility to protect you. I had thought this was the way, but the odds are against us tonight. I want you to go out the back and into the forest. The rest of us will stay here and hold them off."
He realized what was happening. These men were going to sacrifice themselves just for the sake of his insignificant life.
"I can't let all of you die just for me, I'm not leaving!"
One of his father's friends turned around, smirking.
"Boy, we've been prepared to die for a good cause ever since this plan hatched itself, now get on out of here, you're our cause now."
The men all began encouraging Sealamin to leave, and he finally felt fear as the soldiers' crushing charge slammed into the pathetic shield wall.
"GO! NOW!"
Sealamin turned around and ran as fast as he could. He made it to the forest a few feet away from the village, but didn't stop running. Adrenaline pumped through his body, and he knew his life would never be the same. When the adrenaline was gone, he quickly passed out onto the floor.
Upon waking up, he knew he decided he had to leave Albaria. He spent months wandering through the forest, and when had finally came out of it, he saw a small village. He inquired about how he could leave Albaria, and they suggested taking a ship. He was given directions and by the time he was 16 he had arrived at a port city. Unfortunately, he did not count on the fact that a voyage would cost money.
A year of his life went by as a dock worker, saving up every coin he could make. He finally had the money he needed to leave. He began his journey across the sea to Gobiath.
And the flames of rebellion still burned inside his heart.
((I'm realizing now this is more of a story than actual "role-play" but I think it fits more here than anywhere else, but if I'm wrong, then please move it instead of deleting it.))

((In your account, you can edit character information. Here you can write a description and character story for your char, then choose for the profile to be public. You can also add an avatar for your character. Then people can read and rate it (though a lot of the time people seem to rate by avatar) by clicking on your character name on the online list.

((Thanks for all the feedback and advice guys! I felt like I rushed it towards the end (I actually wrote this on the go, letting the thoughts kind of just flow), but I wanted to leave it as an open story so that maybe later on I could see if I could continue the story in-game. It'd be kind of fun to have people coming after Sealamin from Albar and having him be forced to convince people to help him fight them off.))
