My...cape...it's on my feet

Post by Kasume »

Ok....so I was just wacking at some zombies. I was going to leave yet my character wouldn't move. No problem then. I log real quick and come back in. Next thing I knew I had 9 helmets on my head my sword was on my legs my cape was on my feet and my plate chest armor was on my head. What the heck happened? I just took everything off and put it into my inventory. I put my cape on and it disapeared. Now I don't have a cape. Ok I was a little scared so I relogged and everything and when I came back vwabam! I got killed by a zombie because I had nothing on. I wasn't far from the cross (which made me mad because of me dieing in the first place). I did that and noticed my amulet was gone. Oh excuse me. My plate chest armor was on my neck. Sorry. Anyway....what happened here? Did I get killed because of a glitch?

Another thing to say is..I noticed that when a ghost you are encumbered. So it took me about 5 minutes just to get to the stupid cross that was like only 10 paces away. Since when did I ghost get encumbered?

there is a known bug with the save code of the current server...
currently we are testing a new version whcih should not suffer from this problem... though i won't release that version until it's been tested enough... to make sure such things don't happen again...
if all turns out as it looks like i will switch the server version on monday...

Oh...ok well I just wanted to know what was wrong and if it had something to do with my character file. Well thanks for what you told me. I guess I can just work back my loss.

Oh you think that's bad? I lost ALL my items and almost ALL my skills except for 3 or 4! Which situation is worse? I put my faith in the GM's to fix it! :D

Very strange. Something like this happened to me long ago. Most of the work I did for the day was ruined because of a server crash...

Yeah but still it is annoying to wake up getting killed!!! It's hard to escape! Besides how can you wear 9 helmets? hehe

Well, maybe it is annoying when you wake up getting killed but that is life. Remember, it is just a game.

I find it funny when I watched my friend playing this. He pounded on his keyboard when he died.

Randelf laughs.

I think it is possible to wear nine helmets by simply dragging nine helmets to the area...in which you wear helmets. I've never really tried this myself. It could of just did that for a short moment.

Gro'bul, I don't know if that would be a waste of time. Sure, it may not be something really important, but it would be nice to fix. I tried this, and I found out that your helmet dissapears when you place it on top of another one. Please note that I didn't try every helmet though.

I can't say, if this is the case, but one idea was to let ghost get encumbered, so they are forced to drop items - therefore a robber has something to loot, and it isn't too bad for the person beeing killed, since it can choose what to drop. Anyway, you are not supposed to walk around with the multiple load of your own body.

The "encumbered ghost" idea requires that a ghost is able to drop items - I am not sure if this is already possible, but I think so.

Wouldn't a ghost just drop everything anyway? Why be able to hold items around and die with them still on? Anyway...I was carrying a encumbered amount of things because of my loot that I had gotten from the enemies.
