Jewler

Post by Bickimus »

i propose that the occupation jewler be added. that way when luxury points are implemented there will be non magical luxury items to wear, buy, sell, whatever...also it would make a good job besides weaving or grape growing, for those who are not that strong. it could go something like:

__+__=necklace
__+__=bracelet
__+__=ring
__+__=medallion
etc..
brooch, signet ring, diamond eyeglass,....

also,if so wished, you could implement tarnish and such to be cleaned off(to keep jewlers busy once customers have already bought), and give jems the ability to be enchanted with a certain rune or spell, for magical protection for those who arent supposed to wear armor(like mages)and higher priced sells for skilled jewlers working with a mage(or being a mage).

jewler? Ever heard of goldsmithing? jewaled items now "supposedly" have certain effects, which can't really be proven nor disproven.

goldsmithing vs jewlery

Post by Hades »

Goldsmithing right now has so few items one can make! this skill should be bettered or a new skill should be implemented such as being a jewler. I am a decent goldsmith and can make all of the items, I lost interest in the skill.

i think a goldsmith should make things like golden plates, pitchers, statues, things like that...thats just what comes to mind when i think of goldsmithing.

Maybe the goldsmith makes the ring base and a jewler puts the gems on it? Makes it more intresting....Oh well I know it's a bad idea just because it will cost to much. Wah....

As concerning to rl, a jewler is the same as a goldsmith, working on nice things made from different raw materials like gold, silver, titan, bronze ... and also using gems and other nice stones for his work.
The different job would be the gem cutter, as we have allready in it.

In difference to a blacksmith, he is working with fine materials and bringing art to his work.

good idea, but the goldsmiths can already make the majority of things. Although, a gold necklace, like a golden amulet would be cool....
