HELP THE STAFF

Post by Freo »

Ok everyone, heres the deal, i see a lot of topics on this message board that all ask "when are you going to start accepting accounts?!" or "how long does it take?!" I personally find this very annoying, and im not even a person that gets annoyed easily, i can just imagine the crap the staff is going through answering all these questions that the answers are specifically stated in the rules.. If you read them, you wouldnt ask. so before going of and starting a new topic look for one that already has the same subject with the search engine, by creating new topics with the same questions over and over again your wasting the GMs time, time they can be using to look over the emails.

Now im talking to the more experienced players, people who have been in the game for a long time know the rules about the name, no? Well, why dont some of us volenteer to take some of these emails ((gms can forward them to us)) we can delete those that dont seem to have good names ((if unsure about it do nothing)), and the ones that are good send them back to the GMs(( along with the unsure one)). This would help illiminate the fat of the mails, and thusly make the process go by faster. anyone but me think this is a good idea?!

There is a problem though with the idea of players handling the e-mails, or some of them. These e-mails include a password so if one person abuses this trust, if they got it, there would be chaos.

Yea I guess that if someone got all the pass their would be total chaos. But the idea Freo gave us is pretty good, although it lacks all moral. Gm's have alot of work from watching us in the game, getting new accounts, and HAVING A LIFE!. Besides half the people here I have never seen on Illarion. The most Ive ever seen is like 20-25 people. As for I, Im a experienced player that the gm's kicked out of the game for god knows what... I was Pontius/Airos untill the account system kicked in. I asked for ?'s and they gave me some stuff in German. Either way The Gm's have alot of stuff to do then be bothered by repeatitive posts about accounts that haven't been activated.

Why does it have to contain their password? the account system could be changed so that you only have to send your characters name and then if that character is accepted, their name is passed along to the person who unlocks the character. I'm sure this person knows everyone's password.

Anyway, when you send for an account and you get that story to finish off, it could just say att he bottem "reply to <enter name>" then that person decides if they are good at role playing.

The password thing is to ensure that the account mail came from the one who made the char, not for the GMs to know the password.
