Killing mules?

If I killed someone's donkey that was following them around, and it was carrying stuff, it drops it right?

You can't kill mules, you can't even attack them. You can steal them, if the owner is too far away.

But if you steal the mule, you do not steal the stuff in it. That is a problem which is not solved yet.

use the mule

and say

"follow me"

but the owner has to be away (the mule does an irritating noise)

I remember there was a mule that got stuck on the entrance to Silverbrand.
