Can't attack fire elementals

I'm stuck in the dragon cave and can't attack the fire elementals, any reason why?

I go into the maze, get to the elementals, and then can't select them.

Are you sure its the element cos i made the same mistake, cos they leave a trail of fire when they attack.... ie does the red circle appear then goes again after 1 round of attacking?

This is a known bug. Fire elemental cannot be targeted by attack AT ALL. They can be harmed by standing flames of mages (though a mage will likely die long before he kills the elemental)

My friend was playing at the same time he could attack them. Thanks for the help anyway

maybe it was fixed recently. Make sure your Java is up to date, perhaps the answer lay there
