Druid Wand-Like Ability

Post by Thrym »

Mages can use wands to have preset spells cast quickly, correct? I (and others) find that, as druids, it becomes very tiresome to be constantly having to move every item I want to examine, as my full rune list covers half of the universe when it is opened. Thus, I'm simply proposing that there be some way that druids can have an examination rune at the ready for a quick, non-list casting. If anyone has anything to add to this proposal, feel free.

Actually mage wands are there so you can target a person once instead of needing to target him every single time you throw a spell at him.

For the rest of the proposal, I have no idea what its about. I never played a druid though.

Easy what he wants:

Currently you need always to open the rune book to check a herb. That means that you can only chek the herbs in your hand or belt. That means that you alway need to drag your herbs from the bag to your belt. That means pretty much pain in your wrist and waste of time.

He wants something that allows us to use a certain rune (selected by the player) without opening the book. I like that idea. But I do not like it conected to the druidstaff. Because for me it is an alchemy system. Druids are more :P (please no discussion again, that is my personal opinon)

I would prefer to have option if you right click a rune like "durable using". If you select this, you can check herbs with shift+click without opening the book.

I never played a druid though.

use tool on herb;
what tool?
maybe a book? compendium of botany?

*yawns, and almost instantly goes to bed.*

((anyone could buy this kind of book IG and use it depending on skill.
The "LEVEL" of the book might increase with every plant "added". ->use herb on book[[once possible only]];
The book might also show which plants had already been added.
The book would give a max.+on herblore of 10-15% [[what is the full ammount of collectible plants?]]
The book would be tradeable/loosable.))

Just phantasizing.
Also RP-awards could be given in form of extended compendiae from the staff...

Hm. Needs a lot of "markers" for each concerning object, stored on server.
Maybe a simple carryable tool, without customisation?
((or use some piece of the "bard-starting-package-special-object" script? To make it automatic and not usable.))

I would prefer to see the rune book/popup smaller, conveniently out of the way of the writing and the bag so you can see talk and emotes as a mage, and be able to get to your bag as a druid.

Sorry I rather ignored and forgot about this thread since I posted, but Jupiter pretty much hit it dead on. Sorry if my post was not clear enough. ^_^ It is a fix for alchemy, and not druidism itself (you're right when you say it is something different).

@ Maryday: Wut? *doesn't understand what that post has to do with the proposal*

Would be nice to have a GM's/Admin's/Whatever's thoughts on this.
