why complain?

Post by Bickimus »

not to be rude...but why are there so many complaints listed about spells? i am not new to adventuring, and i thought the only benefit of a mage was he/she could use spells. why should other classes complain about the one factor that makes a mage battleworty..or for that matter, usefull!? anyway, all complaints are moot point. if you dont want to get blasted in the face by a certain spell then don't fight someone who can use it!
so...since this is a proposal board..i guess i propose that you either try to tell the essence of the earth that a magus draws his/her magic from to restrict access to these persons, or, well, keep complaining about pointless subjects..... with all due respect

I'll answer this because I have been here for quite a while. In the past the spells were abused heavily and now it is not seen that often that a spell get abused. There have been many changes, since those days and quite frankly its a whole lot better now, or at lease safer then before that it is. If you were here a year ago the frst thing that would hapen to you when you walk down the street is die. This is what happened to me. So to prevent future problems people are proposing to make it safer for everyone.

agreed, that suggestions are the only way to make things more safe..but magic in general is not a safe profession! if one abuses magic, it is up to his superiors to punish him. i think the whole problem comes to the mage who abuses, not the magic.

Which is why all the townsfolk of Trollsbane kick the little magic freak's butt if he /she abuses magic. Remember there are always people in town who make a difference.

heh a mage can ruin anyone no matter how strong he is. AS long as a mage can cast a paralize spell often, and can cast a simple ice flame any warrior would die to it. Paralizes shouldn't be so darn strong.

Bicki, I assume you have no gaming experience, so tryign to explain this to you would be impossible. So I won't try, I will just try and say. Warriors can be crushed by fairly weak mages. These warriors then lose valuable experience. This is not fair. Magic should be a much harder skill to use for it to be so strong.

obviously this is the only game you've ever played...actually i've been roleplaying for about 7 years, although i havent played this game yet, there is no need to try and start an insult war with a newbie who has never played...so why are you trying? i simply meant to state that if you think a spell is unfair then work your strategy around it instead of blaming the makers of the game, or the mage you are trying to fight.

if a mage is abusing magic in general then lynch him. if you are just angry because you can't kill another player who is a mage then i'm sorry that you can't find a different target.

now if the magic on this game is too easy to aquire then i will agree with you and propose that the heirarchy of spells be expanded and made more difficult to achieve. the arcane arts should not be easily aquired, but many game years of practice put in to achieve and master spells of ANY level.
