Crazy graphics problems

Ok I thought I would introduce illarion to my roomate this week, he was trying to get started but we ran into a problem. Every object in the game was rendered as a black silhouette with no textures, gui was fine and objects were being rendered.. only black. Anyways I immediately came to the assumption of old graphics drivers but after updating all drivers and also re-installing java it still didn't work. At random he attempted to login and long behold everything worked! But with crazy lag, and eventually it started reverting back to blackness.

Any input is appreciated.

When you reinstalled java, did you delete the old? If not, try deleting the game in your java console and re-downloading it.

Yes java was uninstalled then reinstalled, sadly.

I could use some informations about your computer specs and your internet connection and maybe a screenshot of the client problem to help you with this.
