This proposal is more or less a "maybe good to have" feature than a "We absolutly need this" Proposal.
I think its possible that the client can be used to start other programms, for example its possible to open the manual with f1. Based on this we could make an link to the wikipedia via ig commands ..or?
How I imagend it is this, as soon as you right click anything the normal text pops up "look at", "use", "use with" etc. now we include another command called "whats this", as soon as you click that command the illa client will start a new browser/browser tab directly linked to the items description, either with a direct link or with with reading out the items name and starting the search engine.
The gain might be a more accesable Illapedia, thus a easier access of the technical side of Illa for newbies, also allowing chars to gain knowledge they "would" have, but simply don't have, because the player does not know how to deal with thing x, obviously a player could also look into the wikipedia himself, but we are all lazy after all.
Linking to the Illapedia ingame

While I like this idea, I think its going about it the wrong way.
1. Opening a browser window is possible. If you have fullscreen it'll minimise and call the browser. If you hit it by accident, you'll have to wait.
2. A wiki is a wiki. It doesn't have all the information you need and it probably contains a lot of uneeded detail on other things.
So what I suggest is , again having a command, but instead opening a small popup (like a book) with a short description which can easily be written by anyone here.
For example
Rope *right click> Help* "A rope may be used to tie people up, or to travel down wells. Shift click the rope and the target to use it.
Simple, easy to understand, and built in.

I was going to suggest some combination of this and the original idea actually, where the server draws on some information that can be updated via the wiki, but will display ingame without having to open any browser windows. Nothing too in depth though, just a summary.
As to the "newbie learning curve".. please. More like "newbie quitting curve".
