Question about fighting.

Post by Rye »

When you are attacked, your character does NOT automatically fight back?
So fighting is a choice? You have the option I understand, to not fight back when attacked by another character but if attacked by a monster your character will just stand there and take damage.

So it would seem to be important to NEVER leave your character unattended!
A quick trip to the WC can mean a messy death! Thankee.

yep, there is even a rule about getting afk for longer times...if you have bad luck and the GMs catch ya...they can summon a nasty monster enxt to your char ;) so...i flonger then for a minute...if you're alone in the wilderness...better log off ;)

If one does not fight back,
one gets an ini advantage, i guess.

So it might be better to cancel attack , in case of tactical medium-range movement,
not to waste time on parrying, or counter attack.

Dodging is a passive skill, i think.

Only guessing.

Dodging/parry always happens, regardless of whether you are fighting the guy.

Attacking uses up quite a bit of movement points, so if you're planning on running, STOP ATTACKING and run ;)

Also if you're parrying attacks from 4 different directions, expect to move much slower.

Thank you all.
Also please, Which creatures would be best to begin with? I mean for something that fights back? And where are they relative to Troll's Bane?

Mummies and skeletons to start on. They can be found in a crypt that is in a cave north of Trolls Bane...if you follow the mountain that curves westward, I believe its the first cave entrance.

Mummies and skeletons can also be found underneath the graveyard.

Giant-Flies are a good start, too, for learning defense skills. Can be found in swamps. And I think more can be easily found out ingame.
