I know ~very~ little about goldsmithing, but I try to help anyway.

First you need to make copper items, before you can actually use gold.
You need a different hammer aswell, so don't try to goldsmith with a normal hammer, I have no idea what you can make when, but you cna make all goblets(except glass) and all rings/amuletts and so on.

things you need to be a goldsmith

first. the desire to click excessively, and no, i am NOT joking

second, you need a pile of iron ingots, you will be making iron goblets until they pour out your ears (or at least feels like they are)

third, you need a finesmithign hammer, actually, you need about 20, and the worse the hammer is, the better, at least in the beginning, you WANT to fail as often as possible, it gives you more 'exp' to fail, perfect chance to buy shoddy hammers from a budding smith and putthem to good use :)

fourth a sense of humor, goldsmithign is not fun or exciting, at least not until you actually can start to get to the gold items, with a dwarf will be quite awihle since you have no 'booster' activity like you do with smithing from smelting the ores

You also need to be suicidal :)

Have a nice day.

If I were you I'd become a NORMAL smith before hand, because for the first few (hundred) items, you're going to be losing money

--

And to put gems in objects you create a '[Gem] ring' - you don't put gems into objects unless they're magic gems.

And yes you can make crowns. If you're still alive till the end.

Garon might.

But that's garon. He's incredibly rich.

He's around 4-5 times richer than the second richest char.

So yeah, if you persist and not-kill yourself and get a good sales pitch - BAM you'll be rolling in money in no time!*

Garon scares me...He wanted 80 silvers for a black stone ring!

You see: Iron goblet.

You sell: Finely crafted , rough-brushed goblet , decorated by polished , wild grape-vines.
On one side is left a free space for the initials of the customer.

A good blackstone ring has no price , only circumstances.

It is always fine to be owed coins , or favours from famous persons. :P

I used to do things like that. But then I was told that unless I had a custom lookat thing put on it, for each thing I make, a.. battle staff looks like any other battle staff. No designs, nothin'. Maybe that changed.
