Everything about Illarion that fits nowhere else. / Alles über Illarion was inhaltlich in kein anderes Board passt.

To say it again. Potions with pure effects are rare. Every Potion is a mix of 8 different effects, in positive and negative kind. The positive and negative polarisation have 4 different concentrations each.

A potion that has an effect on strengh (in 8 different kinds) can have ~10 million variations of other effects beside.

How you want to design static lables?

No no, i wasnt refferening to labels, but to info messages.. like, per example, I drink a potion, and let's assume that this potio nwas intended by the druid to give me +str and +agility, so I will get an info like:

--> You feel stronger
--> You feel faster

If we want to add -4 to +4 numbers to that we can..

--> You feel a little bit stronger (+1)
--> You feel a lot stronger (+2)

..etc..
get my drift? :D

Now i got your point

Propably it would work and as more as i think about it, i see the benefit. But not only in healing and pushing potions.

Currently i still do not like the idea, that every effect get announced in message. Sure, the player should be informed about what happens with his char. But the effects of the system would be public totally, so that exploring of the function would be too easy for me. I am playing Illarion since years. To every time effects were hidden and needed to be explored. It would be a totally change in my mind :wink:

And as stated by your own example. The messages would be long:

"You become stronger a bit, stupid much more, your agility raised"
or
"Your got mana, lost hitpoints, becomes hungry"

But only to show the main effect (as compromis) would be much more complex i think.
