During town attacks...

Post by Khalime »

I know during "town attacks" there are many who aren't as able to take on the armies as others using melee attacks.. But I do believe all men and women should, during this time, have a bow or crossbow handy along with the proper ammunition.. A person who has these, in my opinion, should fight with along ranged weapons if nothing else. If not either of those, I suggest having some other type of supply such as potions or food handy to possibly pass out. I realize it may be costly to some but we know it would be worth it in the long run than to see other civilians die because of the wars.. I don't believe there is one person here who is not willing to make a few sacrifices and take a few chances to save this town. I am not argueing to anyone specifically, just asking all members of the town to take part in the war against the demons I know we all suffer from..

Yes, many have already said that. ((Look on the thread titled: Notice: Town Danger!))

Your welcome. That is good to hear that another person is trying to look out for the town against that evil Bloodhearte.

Not everybody is a warrior. Some people even hate arms. To force those onto the battlefield doesn't help anybody. Even more important is that people learn to think tactically instead of running around mindless striking at everything in sight.

Important are fore example:
-Do not stand in the way. Archers and mages should keep in the background leaving melee fighters the space to move and fight.
-Instead of standing around, even low level mages can use their abilities to heal wounded fighters. Also sometimes it is better if mages paralize enemies instead of tring to kill them with offensive spells. Especially if the number of strong melee fighters on our side is low.
-No field spells! They are additional obstacles for our forces, which are entirely unneeded. This also goes for attack spells which have area effects.
-Pull unconcious fighters away from the attackers! There is no need for them to die if someone is quick enough to get them out of the enemies reach.
-If you see someone who is obviously running away from an enemy try to assist him.

Those are just a few hints on how to greatly improve the effectiveness of Troll's Banes town defences, without forcing people onto the battlefield who would only be in the way of the experienced fighters, and might even hit our own forces because of a lack of experience with a bow.

Adano Eles makes a good point. I myself even said I would not fight in this battle. I simply will hide out in the forest. As I said, I will kill those who attempt to kill me. I will kill those who need assistance. Other than that, I'm not going to help. I wish to only peacefully do my work.

Since when did this become specifically against Bloodhearte himself? I do not believe you can blame the actions of all that has happened in recent days on one man alone. Do you really believe he had the capability to summon what he did? As though we need to waste our entire town of warriors and mages on a silly cult? A decen mage and warrior combination who are good battle comrades could easily cut down the cult by a good half.

Stop twisting words Bumbol. He is very obviously talking about how he will defend those who are in need of assistance by killing the offender. Stop trying to pick fights all the time.

I can kinda see what you mean. But I am not forcing anyone onto the battlefield. All I am doing is asking the other people of the town to assist in whatever ways they find possible. And please do not tell me you really think that the warriors of this town are "running around mindless striking at everything in sight. Saying that is, to me, implying that I, along with the other warriors of the town are mindless idiots". Some people don't respond nicely to comments such as that.
Yes, you are right. The archers should stay in the back behind the melee fighters so that they are less likely to get injured. That is, after all, why I said the 'others' of the town should have bows or crossbows, not swords..

Randelf, we can't sit still and let chaos happen all around us. We are being attacked by Ashkatuul and Drahken. The source of their powers are the mirrors. I believe once the mirrors are gone so will be Ashkatuul and Drahken. Then it will be peaceful once more.

When I said stop all this fighting, I didn't mean to just let the Blackstone Cult do what they want. I'm talking about the people who accuse others of having a mirror. I am basically saying that if we don't know for sure if someone has a mirror, then let them go. Don't run up to a person and question him/her everytime you see them. The other day in town someone claimed that they had a mirror. Of course, everyone quickly reacted and started to attack him saying, "Give up the mirror!" Like everyone else who has a mirror, they didn't give it up. You can keep asking for mirrors. I just feel that we don't need to bother someone that claims that they have a mirror. They could be lying for all we know. Of course Bloodhearte may have one. But, the others who claim it could be lying, just remember that.

I would also like to note...
It isn't like we are being attacked every day of our lives. We were attacked once. Yes, it was bad. We all want the mirrors, but I have heard the same old thing over and over.

"That person who nobody knows has a mirror!"
"Really? How do you know?"
"He just said he did. Human, give up the mirror or you will die!"

So they end up killing him. Soon later, they ask for the mirror and kill him again. If this person doesn't give up the mirror, then killing him everytime we see him isn't going to do anything. About an hour later the human even said he never even had a mirror. He might of had one. Maybe he didn't. We don't know. Killing him everytime we see him won't do anything.

We could throw the accused into prison until they are willing to give up their mirrors...

We don't. We don't have to go mirror hunting all day long. Bloodhearte might of gave his mirror to someone else for all we know. We don't know who could have one and who could. If you see someone that places one down in front of your eyes, then do something about it.

Thank you for the idea Cain.
That is exactly what I'm talking about. It is better than killing them. Most seem to rather be killed then to give up the mirror.

It may be unfair to attack someone who has been accused by someone else to have a mirror. It all depends how much you trust your source.

But if someone is stupid enough to claim themselves that they have a mirror at this time of crisis, then it's their fault for becoming hunted, whether they actually own one or not. There's no time to sympathize with such fools. They'll either suffer until they give up a mirror if they own one, or if not then they will think twice before making stupid claims about owning a cursed mirror.

It is inevitable to attack those who claimed themselves to have a mirror. It's only for those whom others have accused them of having a mirror that one must try to be fair and cautious in trusting their source.

We've been attacked more than once, and will be attacked again as long as he's not stopped. This isn't the first Drakhen Vorkalion has ever attacked, so don't tell others to sit in a comfort zone just because you've only been in one attack. You don't know when the next attack will be.

And if you don't know, the mirrors need to be destroyed before they are returned to the enemy because the energy they've drained will help our enemy, so don't think we only need to destroy a mirror if we see someone using it again because that's not enough. They need to be destroyed before they are returned to the enemy with the energy they've drained.

How could you throw someone in prison? You don't have control over the forces which control the prison. They're not going to throw people in prison for you just because you think they have a mirror.

Dyluck has a point. We cannot just throw someone inside the prison just because he or she is suspected of having a mirror. Can you imagine what it would be like if this were to happen? If someone asks for the mirror and they don't wish to give it up and get killed, yes, it is their fault.

Khalime, what I was trying to say is that right now most fighters enter the battlefield, pick their target and don't care what happens around them. Noone is alone on the battlefield, and that is what people need to become aware of.

Dear Citizens,

One fact is, that the mirrors have to be destroyed.
The other fact is, that we can only help and save the people, having a mirror and beeing under the influence of the evil powers of the mirrors, if they give their mirror freely to someone or destroyed them themselves under the control of victims.
A mirror taken with violance or by killing a person won't help and save this person.
Some of the people possesing a mirror are misguided by evil ones, giving them the mirror. For these may be a help to talk to them without threats.
Others may possess the mirror, cause it is their goal to reach powers for Drakhen Vorkalion. There, talking may have no results.

A way of finding out if someone has a mirror may be to bring this person to a priest, using blessed water on the person and prayers and rituals, so that one can look behind the person.
As the mirrors are from Drakhen, they have evil powers inside and will poisson the heart with evil of the one, having a mirror.
So there might be reactions by using blessed water and prayers on them.

I hope, that my words have cleared up a bit and may be a help to differ between people and people, without using unnecessary violance.
