Distance learning

Are chars still able to "learn" by throwing stones? If so, is there a "bug" in distance learning? Have "thrown" over 600 stones, closer to 800 and NO change in the skill bar for distance (though got a nice magical diamond) .

Wasn't sure to post here or on Mantis.

Updated: Apparently it was the monster and not the distance learning causing the delay, however there seems to be some glitch to placing stones in the bag, if you drop 250, you can only pick up 249 if your belt is full, since such a miner glitch it may not be worth even reporting on Mantis.
