Open pells (usefull or just rp)

i need to know if there is any non-roleplay use for open pells, aka open scrolls? can you right on them maybe make notes or something?

Mages used to use those to write spells onto 'closed' pells. The system was buggy and was taken offline a year ago. It would be nice to see it back - fixed of course.

Otherwise, they are an essential 'building' component of bookshelves.

They have no other current 'practical' use as far as I know.

They are always handy to use when RP'ing notes, books and documents. It would add to the RP to have an open pell to give.
