i think that cut gems (not in rings) should be able to do some magical thing. Like a certain gem can let you communicate with someone anywhere on the map from any other point for a short time. Achieving a certain new magical gem potion would have to be used on the gem, but its a skill to work the potion on the gem and a skill to use the magical gem, and using a "magical" gem in a ring is the same as it used to be. But anyone can do this, but druids make potions
heh, why not use gems in the potions, that would be kinda cool. salathe, im not even sure if the rings work. i havent seen any real changed wearing four of any ring for any certain thing.
gems in a potion? thats kinda wierd because its almost impossible to crush most gems, especially in that time, and the whole gem would be... awkward. But i would love to use magical gems, black ones could create a skeleton or something, and you can control it, and green makes you able to control animals (pigs and sheep) or something.
im not sure about the rings actually doing stuff but i wear two green ones just incase they do
That was my idea, with the bluestone, if you recall you, I, and Cain talking near the depot. I actually came up with it as a roleplay, when I was imprisoned somewhere; I claimed to have been able to send a message back to Trollsbane with it. It was actually a message to be posted to the boards.
I think having gems do magical stuff is a great idea!
Maybe diamonds could have you attract monsters, just a thought or black stones could increase your damage
nice avatar, but resurecting the dead sound more like a spell to me. that would be going way overboard, considering gems are so easy to find. i think maybe not attrackting monsters, what if you were wearing four diamond rings at a party with no armor and a noob came running with a ogre on his tail? ouch. but, i think raw gems are fine how they are, maybe enchantable would be good but it would have to be very hard, like you have to put a potion on it that is only dropped by a demon 1/100. and thats probobly still too easy!
I must say that I would have to agree with Gro'bul. Resurrecting would be a little too much. However, I do agree with your first post Salathe. It doesn't sound like a bad idea. It could just happen...hopefully.
