This is something I've been meaning to bring up.Aragon wrote:If you write on the ingame-boards (like rpg and mostly guild boards), it is useful, if you have the name of your character, cause it is he, who talks there.
My in game name and board name is different because I try to keep character and player personality seperate. If I use my in game name on the ooc forums it would be giving away character info that other characters may not know. And I would have to stick to my character's personality which may be different from mine. Sometimes I may play an evil character when in real life I am far from evil.
On the other hand If I use my board name in the rpg forum then that is not my character speaking but me, the player, speaking.
Yes I agree. But when I am typing in all these other boards it is not my character who is speaking but me. So which is right?Aragon wrote:If you write on the ingame-boards (like rpg and mostly guild boards), it is useful, if you have the name of your character, cause it is he, who talks there.
I use different names for a reason. To keep player knowledge and character knowledge seperate.
(Boy I'm really confused now)

Also, what about the people who have more than one character.
Lets say for example I have a character named Bob and I also use that name in the boards. Then I create a new character named John.
If I want John to say something in the rpg board the name on the post would actually be Bob.

If you have several chars, make for each char one baord account.
If the char "bob" will talk at the rpg-forum, log in with him, if the char "john" will talk, log in with "John".
This is the easiest way.
I have about four different board accounts.
And talking on the other boards, there it is clear, that the player talks and not the char.
Also I will only set a subscribtion on the rgp and guild board for my char, but not on the other boards.

@Aragon.
What do you mean when you say, 'Also I will only set a subscribtion on the rgp and guild board for my char, but not on the other boards.'? Is the subscription in this meaning a signerature of the individual character or something else? The word subscription brings to mind a contract you sign indicating you will pay for a service of some sort for a set amount of time. I am just curioius as to what you really meant by this. Thank you!
