All right, so I'm new to Illarion but not new to RPG at all. However, just had a question about it:
I requested an account before I created a character because when I requested an account the server was offline so I couldn't have created a character anyway.
...Is this a problem? I dont think so but i'm not sure. Helpage?
A few questions for you may make it easier for the proper people to answer your questions. When you sent your application you had to give the main character you would be using and all other characeters you would like to play (generally already created), just to be sure of this I have to ask if when you were finally able to create the character did you make it with the same name and password as you sent in as your main character for your application? These seems like an obvious question but it had to be asked.
Was it the name Narcisste? If so that could possibly be a violation of the name rules as it closely resembles the word narcissist but is not exaclty the same so could be admitted. I'm in no position to make that judgement.
Yeah I used the same name and same password when I was finally able to create the character.
They shouldn't be -that- strict about it, I didn't even realize it resembled the word narcissist until you mentioned it. I read all the name rules and stuff before I made it too. Ah well.
My advice would be to refrain from sending a second email until you are told to do so by Serpardum or any of the other moderators/gms. They detest receiving more than one email about the same thing and tend to delete all from the same person if their mailbox is fludded with requests or questions or additions that are not necessary. That would be a shame because it would include your application and that would spoil this whole thing. I wish you luck in your application and hope this matter is resolved as quickly as possible so I can see you in game! If you see any of the names on the main board that are written in a shade of yellow you may want to send them a PM to have your question answered faster, or you could wait for them to find it here. It's a judgement call on your part. I'm very sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Woohoo. Argh I hope my account gets accepted soon, what kind of questions do they ask when they e-mail you back?
No no, that was good, thanks for your help. It was appreciated. I play on another game called Furcadia have been for a lonnng time now, but I'll keep the chit chat to a minimum.
Generally they'll send you a story that is just beginning and you have to complete it in rp fashion. There are a few simple questions to answer such as asking you to describe what roleplaying is, but the exact questions or any part of the stories should not be posted on the forums so as to keep the less deserving players from copying and pasting the answers or taking ideas from others to finish the stories on their own applications. It is of course designed to keep the ones who don’t meet this small amount of criterion out of the game. There are a limited number of openings to the stories and they don't want them publicized. You seem very interested and should do just fine.
Thank you very much! =) I hope it'll be all right, the game seems pretty cool. Another question though:
How come they're so "careful" about who to allow to play Illarion? It's kind of nice seeing as how it helps keep PGers and spammers and such to a minimum though.
Bassically you said it. To keep spamers,PK's,and NON roleplayers out. AND I GOTTA SAY ITS WORKING WELL! Hahaha. But alot of new people are still getting in which is good. At least people have to RP to kill someone else now HAhahaha
Hopefully it's not too hard then if new-to-RP people can still get in then, right? =) How long does it take for your account to be accepted after you send your finished questions back to them?
They want to keep it strictly a roleplaying game and not have the streets full of 10 year olds named 'Super Mario' or 'He-man' obviously because this cuts down on the ability for roleplayers to actually roleplay because much of the time spent in game was spent chasing these people instead of roleplaying their own characters. They want to be surrounded by people who treat roleplaying in the same was they do, and that is as something enjoyable and not as another hassle. Before the application system was in place there were many pks who would stand in places you couldn't see and shoot you with arrows for no reason other than to make themselves feel like the 'special' children they truly were. Now there are far fewer of these people and the ones that do get in the game are able to be banned and have a very difficult time getting back into the game.
Illarion is a haven of sorts for the graphical roleplayer. The application is a first line of defense for those who wish to spoil the attempted haven for the decent roleplayers. More are coming in the future and that will also be well received by those of us already accepted even though it will make it harder for the new players to join, once they show they want to join and are able to join they will join a much stronger community than they would have in the past.
Oh thats Niniane she is a whip weilding crazy woman. Hahaha *gets ready to run* But naw you seem ok just dont blow it on the questions! Also from what i have read that furdica or whatever also revolves around Rp'ing is that true?
Yeah it does, except they don't have that sort of 'application' system. They have certain maps designated for strict RP, OOC, and one specifically for um.."sexual tendencies." There's a few other miscellaneous maps too.
Yeah, lol. =) You encounter a lot of child-like players who can be a bit of a pain but if you go to the map for strict RPing, usually you're fine. Plus there's the ignore function which works quite well in ridding the pests.
And yes, there's a map designated for those RPers who RP just for "online sex" or whatever. Users can also make what they call "dreams" which is like uploading a smaller map that they designed into a larger map.
They get quite creative.
Hi I am a little new well actually really new to RP and I was woundering if there is some where I can learn more about RP. If I don't know that much about RP is that a proplem for regersting.
If you sent the e-mail, its a good chance that they haven't looked at it so just make your character if you haven't. Its pretty much the same thing, making character - sending e-mail / sending e-mail - creating character. Just make sure you do it before you get a reply
