I think that equipped weapons and armor should show on the character when people equip them.

Makes you kinda wonder who the poor person who did the original graphics was.abcfantasy wrote:It's not impossible, it is possible. Exactly! Maybe two graphics for shields...a big one and a small one...helmets...i think one is enough...LifeWonder wrote:I agree with that, also one graphic for all leather armor, one graphic for all metal armor, etc.Kranek wrote:i dont think we need graphics for every weapon. one graphic for the swords, one for axes etc. should be enough...if you want exact information...look at the char...

Those are great ideas. How long do you guys think it will take to get this done?

There is one thing you are forgetting when you talk about fully animated games and what not. Our devs work for free.squee wrote:It can't take ten years..... impossible. All the great games out there are made and fully animated, and made in less than three. And this isn't making a game, this is making items show. I dont see how it can possibly take that long...
When people are paid to make a game they are expected to do things by deadlines. No one here gets paid (except maybe in special adult bribes), to do anything here. All of our staff are vollunteers with lives outside of Illarion. If you wanted to pay a 15 dollar per month fee like on WoW we might have better graphics, items, skills, and a game filled of people who can't rp their way out of a paper bag.
Although I like your suggestion and it would be neat, I don't know if it is as high of a priority on the list of things Illarion needs as stuff like the priest and druid system. It would be nice, and it may happen eventually, but it won't be released in the next month or two unless someone is willing to sit down and make it.

Same here.I like avatars too.
The key to success is to have 3D models. You create one for each race (=9) and if you did it right, you can make it turn, walk and create the different animation phases without too much work. Then, you can add a sword to the model and repeat the stuff. Editing the existing pictures in photoshop is a total waste of time.
The problem is, as far as I know: The original 3D models of our avatars were lost by the developers. Nobody has them anymore. So, brand new 3D models need to be created. If you can do this - PM martin. If you cannot do this - there are countless other options to help the game.
