@ Elaralith

Spirit and body are not woven together as such. If this were the case when a person died, their body AND spirit would be dead or the spirit would be in much suffering. This would destroy all belief in an afterlife and I don't think we need to get into this discussion here. Thank you.

@ Paul

Your spirit (in the terms of the game) is your soul. The innate being that resides within your body that makes you you. The part of you that many believe will travel to heaven or hell or whatever names you wish to attach to these places. Your 'ghost'.

When your body is harmed your spirit is free, your spirit does not bleed and cannot lose an arm (debatable I suppose but you understand what I'm getting at here). When you lose your arm there is a good chance your body will die through loss of blood, causing your spirit to leave this mortal flesh. Your spirit is the immortal essence of your being.

These are all opinions, obviously, but without opinion this topic is not something that can be discussed as there is no scientific proof of the soul being a real thing, so please forgive me if you believe something other than this but this is just one of the common beliefs.

When you are physically harmed in life your spirit is not harmed in the same manner. If your body can no longer house your spirit then your spirit exits your body, your body is free of life, and your spirit moves on to another place. Your spirit can also be thought of as the unexplained part of life that is life, what makes you alive and able to think while a rock cannot? (Of course this can be explained scientifically but in the Middle Ages it could not, and the exact point at which life became life is still not completely understood.)

This is why I feel that Mes Pen should heal the body and it's wounds and not affect the spirit as Elaralith wishes or believes (by this I mean that Mes Pen should not restore the spirit, or the essence of life which the spirit represents). If it does not affect the spirit than it cannot harm the undead. When you cut your finger your spirit is not harmed!, if you have some mage cast Mes Pen on you then your finger heals and not your soul. Why should a spell that heals a cut affect your soul or give life to the undead? It shouldn't. It should heal their wounds the same as it does the living.

@Niniane In healing spirit and body are intricately woven together. That is why the mes (light) and pen (spirit/mind/ghost) together form a spell that can heal you physically. And no your not going to be thanked by me.

Alright here's my opinion. This can be debated on forever. Lets just take a poll and decide. huh? how about it?
---------
Spirit is your inner soul, which is a part of your subconcious mind, I think. mes-pen can heal your physical state or give you your body back. Mummy already has a body, it is not dead, becuase it is Undead. Therefore you cannot revive because it is undead, since it is not dead you cannot revive it. Skeletons on the other hand are also undead. Now unless you want to take a trip to Hell and revive the dead, thats up to you. If the creature's spirit and subconcious mind are here then the creature is reviveable(in my opinion, and makes perfectly good sense, now dont come here telling me that i am wrong because I could tell the same to you). Since only the creature's physical body is here then i can say there is nothing you can do about it. Therefore the creature in Illarion that look like they are undead they cannot be revived.

Now this should clear things up a little more.

Elaralith, if the body and spirit are woven together to such a point that if you healed one, you healed the other, wouldn't you simply cease to exist if you body was destroyed (you were killed)? If one is healed, then the other would be healed equally by your definitions. So logically when one was torn to shreds, so would the other. Making it impossible to continue, or float to the cross)
