A Petition
Elaralith walks in a determined manner and tacks on to the Public town wall a petition...it reads:
Greetings my dear fellow citizens of Trollsbane, and especially my fellow tailors in the craft of Tailoring!
To all who care about the current unbelievable prices that tailored items bring please read on.
Right now I think that us tailors are in a highly disadvantaged position due to no doubt the insidious workings of others. The value of our wonderful works has been horribly dimished from its proper place to the lowliest of the low! A splendidly done dress complete with fine trimmings can be bought by a mere beggar in these horrible days. All in all the very essence of our craft has been laid low! We must all band together and protest with rightful indignation these crimes against our craft! I bring forward to you all a Petition of the noblest kind. Through this Petition we may put some hope that we Tailors are restored back to our proper and esteemed position in Society! May the gods take note of this, and take the required action!
Please sign your name with any comments you may have if you are in favour of this petition. Remember the more signatures there are the greater change of invoking action!
I will take the first step and put my name and signature on this Petition. May many others follow!
A long space beneath the message can be seen and one name so far in an elegant elven script:
~Elaralith, Priestess of Elara; master tailor~

Furthermore I would like to add another item to our petition. The lowering of the outrageous price of thread! That greedy human merchant has robbed us tailors of our rightful dues for too long with his extravagant prices for thread! Most of us are peaceful and have no wish to fight to obtain thread and must buy from that human merchant. We must protest the price of thread and have it lowered to a reasonable amount!
To all tailors,
I am not a tailor, I am a mercenary of sorts. I do what I can to rid the world of evil creatures. Which means that I usually have a lot of extra thread and leather. I'm not sure what the human merchant charges for thread, but I would be more than willing to sell any tailors some thread or leather at a more than reasonable price, maybe even trade for some nice articles of clothing.
It may be hard to find me though for I do a lot of traveling and am not in town too often. But if you see me around let me know what you want.

I almost forgot, my signature above is also in agreement with this petition.
The high quality of clothing that I have seen produced by these tailors should deffinately bring a higher price than a simple, plain pair of pants made by an amateur.
Like I said, I do a lot of traveling and out of all the towns I have visited, Trollsbane has got to have the finest tailors. I rarely have seen such quality of clothing.

An average looking human walks up in his clothes which are obviously hand-made by an excellent tailor.
Greetings, I am a merchant of the Silverstar Guild, which most of you know. Like you, I used to sell by carpentered or blacksmithed items to Eliza but, I realized that producing items in mass and selling them to Eliza wasn't worth it, even at 9 or 18 gold pieces each. Instead, I now sell to roaming citizens of Troll's Bane. I make less money but I spend less time producing items and more time doing other things, such as gathering resources or having a good time with my friends. No one or nothing is forcing you to sell to Eliza and i reccomend you do not sell to her, a "boycott" of sorts, then maybe she (or is Eliza a he?) will pay more for your goods. A petition likely won't do anything if you continue selling to her, Thank you.
Roke, Member of The Silverstar Merchant Guild and The Rangers.
The Human then sticks a piece of dough on the back of his note and applys it to the shop wall.

Elaralith writes a note in reply to Roke's post and pastes it right under Roke's post.
Dear Roke,
Your advice as a merchant is highly valued. Boycotting Eliza sounds like a good idea, and I will for one will go through with that. But it must be understood that Eliza is our trader to the outside world, and most tailors feel that Trollsbane is being unfairly used through Eliza with her low prices for the excellently made items by our tailors. This petition is for the council that determines what Eliza buys for, and to hopefully persuade that council into chancing Eliza's prices. Also, it is hoped of course that the gods will take note and take some small actions to change these injustices.
With my blessings,
~Elaralith, master tailor of Trollsbane~

Although my occupation lies within a grey area of the law, I agree that the prices of fine clothing are ridiculous. Tailoring is a classical trade, one that not any simple peasant makes a living from. Also, may I suggest a less violent way of obtaining thread without purchasing from people? Such as, making materials from the plants rather than butchering undead or other creatures. I don't have a problem with this, but such pacifists as Elaralith may...
Due to lack of a tool to write with, the name is signed with the remains of firnis blossom crushed in the mortar.
Xerake
Good luck to all of you who tailor.

Elaralith scans over the many signatures and replies:
Greetings one and all,
I am glad to see that so many have seen the injustice directed at us Tailors and responded. Your support is much appreciated! In a time and a time, this Petition will be presented to the highest ruling council of traders, and then all we can do is pray for justice and change...
Anxious for justice,

a dark figure moves towards the parchment anxiously
i feel i must allign myself with this petition against the injustice that tailors have to endure from the greedy merchant eliza and the unknown human.
but maybe this petition should be broadend although tailors seem to endure the most hardship from the two trhe majority of other skilled crafts people also have to put up with this.
uses his ink tipped dagger to sign the parchment and then proceeds to walk away

Cain Freemont signs his name swiftly for the petition and writes a short message to Paul
Paul Laffing,
Why would we not wish for clothing prices to be higher? Simply because we as tailors put extreme pride into our work and all the quality is guaranteed to be top notch, not nearly as tattered as the clothing you can buy from the shop, at least in THIS town.

OOC: Please do not respond to Paul's post. He is not worth the time of us tailors with his senseless queries to make us look bad. Answering to his insult will only turn this thread into a "chatroom" discussion, which is not wanted in this thread in the RPG board. Thank you for your cooperation. OOC ENDED.

Cain Freemont takes a moment to study the messages. Then he writes,
Hmm.. it would be nice if others would sign such a petition.
OOC: Please stop this ooc. This is meant only for RP and should be kept that way. As Serpardum spoke of, ingame should be 90% RP at the lowest. I believe this should apply for the RP board as well. /OOC
