Cannot connect to server

Post by Velin »

I know a number of people have been having the "cannot connect to server" error, and for some it seems to have resolved itself. However, I cannot seem to make this error stop. I have try the suggestions that have been posted, such as updating my java and I even turned my firewalls off in case it was merely an admittance problem. The error persists however. I will post my log file so that you guys can see if you know what is going on. Any help is greatly appreciated...although I don't speak german...but german help is still appreciated. I'm just coming back to Illarion after a number of years away dealing with life lol. Kinda miss the old version and characters but hope to figure out this new client and explore an expanded world.

PS. If this was solved elsewhere in the forum and I failed to find it even though I searched multiple times with different keywords; I am sorry for wasting your time :)

You can wait for other suggestions also, one quite awhile ago was to go back to java 1.5, however there have been others using 1.6 without problems.

Another suggestion that helped some was to uninstall and reinstall the game.

There isn't really a way to uninstall since the thing isn't really installed. I clicked the DL button for the game and got a jnlp file...even when I selected the run with Java option. I have deleted and redownloaded the file a number of times but sadly to no avail

edit: I'm an idiot...going through my programs list there is an installed component so I removed and will reinstall to see if that helps.

edit2: Sorry to say that didn't help either. Reinstalled twice, tried running off firefox and IE, turned off my firewalls and added illarion.org to all security exceptions...nada :(

There is something that blocks the internet connection for Java. Maybe a firewall?
